Searching Database…

What is this?VibeGame is an open-source, self-evolving multi-agent framework with an AI-native game engine that turns natural-language prompts into playable 2D web games, which you can then edit however you like. It runs on top of Claude Code and OpenAI Codex agent runtimes.
Is this a full game engine or an orchestration framework built on top of one?VibeGame is a multi-agent framework that drives a 2D game engine; the actual rendering layer is built on the Phaser web game framework, with agents generating and editing the game content on top of it.
Which coding agents does VibeGame run on?VibeGame is built on Claude Code and OpenAI Codex, which serve as the agent runtimes powering its game-building agent team.
Can it build 3D games or target engines like Unity and Godot? Not yet. The current open-source release is a 2D, Phaser-based implementation; Godot support, Unity support, and expanding from 2D to full 3D game creation are still on the roadmap.
Does the Apache 2.0 license come with any extra conditions? It's a standard Apache License 2.0, but the authors additionally ask (without requiring) that commercial deployments notify them by email with the organization and product name; this is only for project tracking and doesn't change any rights or add fees.
What can I do in the VibeGame web dashboard? The dashboard lets you chat with the agent team to build your game, preview and adjust sprite animations under Assets, configure character properties under Objects, and playtest the game live under Play.
What inspired VibeGame's design? The team credits Trellis as an inspiration for VibeGame's development harness and agent-sprite-forge as inspiration for its sprite-generation prompt design.
Is there research documentation behind VibeGame?Yes, the project includes a Technical Report plus a Project Page with demos such as a civilization prototype, a Hollow Knight-style boss fight, and a dungeon roguelike.
