image-blaster-1

image-blaster

Creates 3D environments, SFX, and meshes from a single image using Claude skills, World Labs, and FAL.

Can take you from an image to a fully meshed 3D environment in < 5 minutes, great for jumpstarting 3D work. Go full blast.

Quickstart

  1. Open a Terminal, enter git clone https://github.com/neilsonnn/image-blaster
  2. Enter the directory with cd image-blaster
  3. Run claude (install with curl -fsSL https://claude.ai/install.sh | bash)
  4. Say hello to Claude, and give them your API key for World Labs and FAL.
  5. Put an image into input/ directory and ask Claude to blast it and confirm each step with me.

Description

By default image-blaster will use your input image to create:

  1. 3D models (.glb, .obj) of all dynamic objects
  2. Gaussian splat (.spz) of the static environment,
  3. Ambient looping sound and object specific physics SFX (.mp3)

Extensions

You can embed image-blaster under the assets of any game engine, DCC software, or web app.

  1. Unity, Unreal, or Godot game engine
  2. Blender, 3DS Max, or Maya or other DCC software
  3. Three.js web app or Electron app

Advanced

IMAGE-BLASTER uses a few generation models:

3D model creation supports these Hunyuan parameters:

What is this?image-blaster is a skillset for Claude that turns a single image into a 3D environment, complete with meshes and sound effects, by orchestrating Claude skills alongside the World Labs and FAL APIs.
Is this a Claude skill or a standalone app? It's primarily a Claude skill: you point Claude at an image and it calls external APIs to build the 3D scene. It also ships a bundled React viewer app (in /app) so you can preview and tweak the generated output.
How do I get it running?Clone the repo and use the bundled scripts to run the viewer: 'bun --cwd=app run dev' starts it locally, and 'bun --cwd=app run build' produces a production build; the skill itself is invoked through Claude.
Do I need API keys for World Labs and FAL?Yes — image-blaster drives the World Labs and FAL services (and optionally Hunyuan's 3D API) to generate the mesh and environment, so you need access to those APIs to use it.
Can I control the mesh quality and style of the output?Yes, through flags: --enable-pbr toggles PBR materials (on by default), --generate-type chooses Normal, LowPoly, or Geometry-only output, and --polygon-type sets triangle or quadrilateral polygons for LowPoly. The default target face count is 50000, well below Hunyuan's API default of 500000.
What kinds of images work best for this? The project is pitched for video game level concepts, childhood bedrooms, robot environments, film location scouting, and architectural renderings — essentially any single reference image you want turned into an explorable 3D space.
Can I customize the viewer app?Yes — removing /app from the .claudeignore file gives Claude permission to edit the bundled React viewer directly.
Why is Hunyuan mentioned alongside World Labs and FAL?Hunyuan's API appears to be used as (or alongside) the mesh-generation backend; its default target face count of 500000 is noted as much higher than image-blaster's own default of 50000.
