Usual installation (New theme)

During installation, you need to confirm some actions, also contains:

Just download and run Install_New_theme.bat

Usual installation (Old theme)

During installation, you need to confirm some actions, also contains:

  • Forced installation of version 1.2.13 (since the old theme was removed in subsequent versions)
  • Old theme activated
  • Automatic blocking of Spotify updates
  • All experimental features included

Just download and run Install_Old_theme.bat

Full installation

Full installation without confirmation, what does it do?

  • New theme activated (new right and left sidebar, some cover change)
  • Hiding podcasts/episodes/audiobooks from the homepage
  • Activated static theme spotify for lyrics
  • Hiding ad-like sections
  • All experimental features included
  • Removal of Spotify MS if it was found
  • Installation of the recommended version of Spotify (if another client has already been found, it will be installed over)
  • Blocking of Spotify updates
  • After the installation is completed, the client will autorun.

Just download and run Install_Auto.bat

Installation for premium

Usual installation only without ad blocking, for those who have a premium account, also contains:

  • New theme activated (new right and left sidebar, some cover change)
  • Disabled only audio ads in podcasts
  • All experimental features included

Что это такое?SpotX — это патчер для официального десктопного клиента Spotify на Windows: он блокирует баннерную, видео- и аудиорекламу и меняет некоторые скрытые настройки клиента. Поставляется в виде набора скриптов установки, которые запускаются один раз.
Как пропатчить свой Spotify с его помощью?Скачайте релиз и запустите один из установщиков .bat, например InstallNewtheme.bat, либо вставьте команду PowerShell из README. Скрипт патчит уже установленный клиент и по ходу просит подтвердить несколько действий.
Что должно быть установлено перед запуском?Windows от 7 до 11, официальный десктопный Spotify (версия из Microsoft Store не подойдёт) и PowerShell 5.1 или новее.
Я установил Spotify из Microsoft Store — будет ли работать?Нет, SpotX поддерживает только официальный десктопный клиент. При полной автоматической установке SpotX даже удалит Spotify из Microsoft Store, если найдёт его, и установит рекомендуемую версию поверх вашего текущего клиента.
Что он делает с телеметрией?В рамках патча в клиенте Spotify отключается отправка аналитики.
Есть ли подвох в использовании?Репозиторий распространяется по лицензии MIT, но в дисклеймере README сказано, что SpotX модифицирует официальный клиент Spotify и предоставляется как ознакомительная версия, так что пользуетесь вы им на свой страх и риск.
Чем отличаются четыре режима установки?New theme — установка по умолчанию с обновлённым интерфейсом боковой панели; old theme возвращает классический вид, но привязывает вас к Spotify 1.2.13, потому что в более новых версиях этот интерфейс удалили. Полная установка проходит без вопросов, а ещё скрывает подкасты и блокирует обновления; premium-установка пропускает блокировку рекламы для платных аккаунтов.
Что ещё меняется, кроме исчезновения рекламы?По желанию он скрывает подкасты, эпизоды и аудиокниги с главной страницы, включает все экспериментальные функции и отключает аналитику. Сама новая тема меняет левую и правую боковые панели и некоторые обложки.
Как отменить патч?Запустите Uninstall.bat или переустановите Spotify — в README для чистого удаления советуют полностью удалить Spotify.
