Turn passing thoughts into notes that last

Write a quick entry, choose a workspace and notebook, and WakeGPT can keep appending it to your Markdown file. You do not need to organize folders, open an editor, or leave the task at hand. Capture the thought first and refine it later.

The desktop app and quick panels keep their own current notebook and draft. Switching in one surface does not unexpectedly move another surface away from what you were viewing.

How an entry flows

  1. Enter text, Markdown, or a link, or paste an image.
  2. Choose the workspace inbox or a Markdown notebook.
  3. Submit once to save locally; when a notebook is bound, WakeGPT also appends the entry to its Markdown file.
  4. Return later to edit, move, delete, restore, or reuse the entry in ChatGPT.

WakeGPT manages only clearly marked quick-note regions in a Markdown file. The rest of the document remains yours to edit with any tool.

Project status

WakeGPT is open source and currently available as a macOS prototype. The v0.1.1 macOS release is available now.

Download v0.1.1 only from its official GitHub Release and compare its SHA-256 value with the included SHA256SUMS.txt. After trying to open WakeGPT once, macOS may require you to open System Settings → Privacy & Security and choose Open Anyway. See Apple's instructions for opening an app from an unknown developer. WakeGPT does not ask users to disable Gatekeeper or remove quarantine attributes with xattr.

Run from source

You will need Node.js, npm, Rustup, and the Tauri 2 system prerequisites.

For a macOS Universal build:

Source builds remain development or local-verification artifacts. The downloadable v0.1.1 package is also unnotarized, but it was produced through WakeGPT's release checks and is published with checksums and supply-chain records.

Privacy and safety

Report security issues privately as described in SECURITY.md. Do not put vulnerability details, account information, or real user data in a public issue.

Работает ли он на Intel Mac или только на Apple Silicon?Универсальный app bundle v0.1.1 содержит код и для Apple Silicon, и для Intel, но реально проверен только Apple Silicon; работа на железе Intel не проверялась, а поддержка Windows x64 ещё в разработке и не выпущена.
Отправляет ли WakeGPT мои заметки куда-то или читает мой логин ChatGPT?Нет: заметки, вложения и файлы workspace по умолчанию остаются локальными при выключенной телеметрии, интеграция с ChatGPT лишь заполняет поле ввода, не нажимая Send, и никогда не читает и не хранит пароли, cookies или токены входа ChatGPT.
Как на практике что-то сохранить — от записи до заметки?Вы вводите текст, Markdown, ссылку или вставленное изображение, выбираете inbox workspace или привязанный notebook и отправляете один раз; если notebook привязан, запись сохраняется локально и дописывается в его Markdown-файл, а позже её можно изменить, переместить, удалить, восстановить или отправить в ChatGPT.
Где ещё можно сделать быструю запись, кроме главного окна приложения?WakeGPT даёт три поверхности ввода: полноценное десктоп-приложение для управления workspace и историей, панель в строке меню macOS для быстрой записи без переключения контекста и экспериментальная боковая карточка ChatGPT для заметок рядом с диалогом и вставки записей в поле ввода.
Как работает отправка заметок в ChatGPT?Выделенный текст и настоящие вложения-изображения помещаются прямо в текущее поле ввода ChatGPT для вашего просмотра, но WakeGPT никогда не нажимает Send за вас.
Насколько надёжна боковая карточка ChatGPT?Она экспериментальная и проверена только на точных версиях сайта, зафиксированных в репозитории; если интерфейс ChatGPT изменится, боковая карточка безопасно отключит сама себя, а не сломается.
