What is this?
A graphical desktop client for the Clash proxy, built on the Tauri framework — it gives the Clash core a point-and-click interface instead of raw config files.
Is it a desktop app I install on my computer, or does it run somewhere else?
A native desktop app, packaged separately for Windows, macOS and Linux; the UI is React + TypeScript running on a Rust backend through Tauri.
How do I get it onto my machine?
Grab the installer for your OS from the GitHub Releases page and install it like any regular desktop program — the prebuilt packages need no build step or terminal work.
Do I need to install the Clash core or anything else first?
No — the app is self-contained and manages the Clash core itself; there is no separate runtime such as Node or Python to set up.
Is this project still being developed? The star count looks impressive.
Development has stopped: the repository is archived, so it is read-only and will not receive new features, updates or fixes — newer work lives in community forks.
Why make a GUI for Clash at all — what is Clash like on its own?
Clash itself is a proxy core driven by config files. Clash Verge wraps it in a normal desktop interface, so switching nodes, toggling the system proxy and managing subscription profiles become clicks rather than hand-edited YAML.
Does the choice of Tauri matter to me as a user?
A little: Tauri apps render their interface in the system's own webview instead of bundling a browser engine, and this one pairs that with a Rust backend and a React + TypeScript UI, keeping the client light and native-feeling.
Can I still use it even though the repo is archived?
Yes — archiving only freezes development. Released installers keep working as-is; you simply will not get updates, bug fixes or official support going forward.
