Amphion: An Open-Source Audio, Music, and Speech Generation Toolkit

open-mmlab%2FAmphion | Trendshift

Amphion (/æmˈfaɪən/) is a toolkit for Audio, Music, and Speech Generation. Its purpose is to support reproducible research and help junior researchers and engineers get started in the field of audio, music, and speech generation research and development. Amphion offers a unique feature: visualizations of classic models or architectures. We believe that these visualizations are beneficial for junior researchers and engineers who wish to gain a better understanding of the model.

The North-Star objective of Amphion is to offer a platform for studying the conversion of any inputs into audio. Amphion is designed to support individual generation tasks, including but not limited to,

In addition to the specific generation tasks, Amphion includes several vocoders and evaluation metrics. A vocoder is an important module for producing high-quality audio signals, while evaluation metrics are critical for ensuring consistent metrics in generation tasks. Moreover, Amphion is dedicated to advancing audio generation in real-world applications, such as building large-scale datasets for speech synthesis.

What is this?An open-source toolkit for audio, music, and speech generation. It is built to support reproducible research and help junior researchers and engineers get started in the field.
Is it a single model I download, or more of a research platform?A platform: it implements many classic models and architectures across generation tasks — TTS, voice conversion, singing, text-to-audio — plus shared vocoders and evaluation metrics for consistent comparisons.
How do I get it running?Clone the Python codebase and follow the installation guide in the README, or build the included Dockerfile. Published checkpoints (MaskGCT, Vevo, FACodec and more) let you run inference without training anything.
What is Metis?A foundation model for unified speech generation released in February 2025. One system handles zero-shot TTS, voice conversion, target speaker extraction, speech enhancement, and lip-to-speech.
What is Vevo2?The newest release (March 2026): a unified, controllable framework for speech and singing voice generation. It learns prosody once and supports TTS, SVS, VC, SVC, singing voice editing, singing style conversion, and melody control.
Can I use the pretrained models commercially? The toolkit code is MIT-licensed, but the Emilia dataset behind the flagship checkpoints is CC BY-NC 4.0 (non-commercial), while the newer Emilia-YODAS portion is CC BY 4.0. Check a model's training data before commercial use.
