FluentTweaker README

The project's README from github.com/builtbybel/FluentTweaker. As one markdown file: README.md.

modern, transparent and actually understandable Windows tweaking

no mystery buttons, no “ultimate FPS boost”, no registry roulette

image

FluentTweaker is basically the sibling project to FluentCleaner, except instead of cleaning files, this one focuses on tweaking Windows itself

UI, taskbar, privacy, AI features, Explorer behavior, gaming tweaks, performance settings, hidden policies, system behavior...all the stuff power users usually end up changing manually through obscure registry edits, group policies or random forum posts from 2012.

the difference is: you can actually see whats happening

every tweak is inspectable, categorized and reversible. no giant "optimize now" buttons that secretly change 40 things at once and leave you guessing what broke afterwards.

built with WinUI 3.after years of jumping through pretty much every Windows framework Microsoft ever shipped, i was honestly close to abandoning the platform entirely for Linux at one point 😄 then somehow WinUI 3 happened and against all odds i actually started enjoying building Windows apps again. Winslopr was my first real experiment with it. FluentCleaner pushed things further. FluentTweaker is where the whole architecture finally started feeling complete.

so yeajh...looks like ill stay loyal to the Windows dev ecosystem a little longer after all

philosophy

FluentTweaker avoids the usual tweak-tool nonsense:

instead it focuses on:

basically: a Windows tweaker made by someone who got tired of Windows tweakers :D

What is this?FluentTweaker is a Windows tweaking app from the same author as FluentCleaner. Instead of cleaning files, it lets you adjust UI, taskbar, privacy, AI features, Explorer behavior, gaming tweaks, performance settings and hidden policies.
Is this a cleaning tool like FluentCleaner, or something different? It is FluentCleaner's sibling project, but it tweaks Windows settings instead of cleaning files. Every tweak is inspectable, categorized and reversible, rather than hidden behind one-click optimize buttons.
Does it promise things like a magic FPS boost? No. The project explicitly avoids fake turbo modes, magic FPS promises, mystery scripts, and tweaks applied just for the sake of tweaking.
What platform does this run on?It's a Windows desktop app built with WinUI 3, aimed at power users who would otherwise tweak registry keys and group policies manually.
What's the relationship between FluentTweaker and FluentCleaner? They're sibling projects by the same author: FluentCleaner handles file cleaning, while FluentTweaker focuses on tweaking Windows settings and behavior.
Why did the author build this instead of switching to Linux? The author had considered leaving the Windows dev ecosystem for Linux, but WinUI 3 reignited their interest in building Windows apps, leading first to Winslopr, then FluentCleaner, and now FluentTweaker.
What categories of tweaks does it cover? It covers UI and taskbar customization, privacy, AI features, Explorer behavior, gaming tweaks, performance settings and hidden system policies.
Can a tweak be undone if it causes problems?Yes, reversibility is a core design principle: every tweak is meant to be inspectable and reversible rather than a black-box change.
