What is this?
A curated catalog of impressive GitHub profile READMEs - the personal landing pages developers add to their profiles - with new entries added continuously.
Is this a tool I install, or just a page of links?
Just an index: 16 style categories (GitHub Actions, Game Mode, Dynamic Realtime, Minimalistic, GIFS, Badges, Retro and more) plus Tools, Articles and Video Tutorials sections, each entry linking to a real profile.
How do I use it, and where should a beginner start?
Nothing to install: open the README on GitHub, pick a category that matches the vibe you want and click through to the real profiles. The easiest start is the Minimalistic section or the Github Profile README Generator tool.
The dynamic profiles show live stats and games - do those keep working on their own?
No, not by themselves: live counters, stats cards and animations depend on external services or GitHub Actions, and some dynamic content even requires a running server.
Can I reuse the list and the ideas in it freely?
Yes - the repo is published under CC0-1.0, which is effectively public domain, so the list itself can be copied and reused; each linked profile remains its author's own work.
What is the most unusual style in the list?
A whole Game Mode category collects profiles that turn the page into a playable game, alongside Anime, Typing.. Mode and Retro sections for themed designs.
Can my profile show live data like stats or music?
Yes - the Tools section links generators such as Github Readme Stats, GitHub Streak Stats, visitor counters and a Spotify now-playing card, usually embedded as SVG images or refreshed by GitHub Actions.
How do I get my own profile added?
The repo has a Contribute section: add your profile under the matching category and open a pull request, and the list keeps growing - it already catalogs well over 150 profiles.
