Overview

First and foremost, this is not a remaster.
It is a mod that allows the game to be modded with NVIDIA's RTX Remix.
It comes with a Baseline Remix Mod and GTAIV-AutoPBR.

RTX Remix has a certain overhead because of how it works and intercepts the game's draw calls and
there are obvious drawbacks and things that will not work with such a new title. Don't expect this to be perfect.

You'll likely experience a CPU bottleneck because of the amount of detailed meshes the game is rendering.
This means that the performance you'll see in certain places is not entirely due to pathtracing.

The mod comes with a custom Remix Runtime required for a few game specific features,
with Ultimate ASI Loader to load the Compatibility Mod itself and a custom fork of FusionFix tailored for RTX-Remix.

What is this?A compatibility mod that lets Grand Theft Auto IV be modded with NVIDIA's RTX Remix, adding real-time path tracing on top of the original game. It is explicitly not a remaster.
Is this a full remaster of GTA IV, or a mod I install on top of my own copy of the game? Not a standalone release — you install it on top of your own copy of the game. It bundles a Baseline Remix Mod, GTAIV-AutoPBR and a custom Remix Runtime.
Which version of the game do I need, and does it have to be an Nvidia RTX setup? It targets GTA IV: The Complete Edition (1.2.0.59) and is built specifically for NVIDIA's RTX Remix, so you need that game version and an Nvidia RTX setup capable of running Remix and DLSS.
How well does it run in practice? It is CPU-bottlenecked: the game's dense meshes eat performance, so some scenes are limited by the CPU rather than path tracing. It can be stuttery and peds show no blood — do not expect perfection.
What DLSS features does it support?DLSS 4.5 (Ray Reconstruction 2) works out of the box; DLSS 5.0 (Neural Rendering) is supported if you provide the necessary dll yourself.
Why is a compatibility mod needed at all — doesn't RTX Remix just work?RTX Remix works by intercepting the game's draw calls, which is generic and adds overhead. This mod bridges the gap: it translates game lights, patches vertex shaders so Remix can read surface normals, and ships a custom Remix runtime for game-specific features.
Does the in-game phone still work?Yes — the mobile phone works, though it is rendered in 3D and currently scales with the camera FOV.
Does it add any tools besides the graphics work?It includes a Screenshot Mode, FreeCam Mode and other utilities, plus a few PBR materials, HQ meshes for vegetation and fences, and texture fixes.
