Tracy Profiler

Sponsor

A real time, nanosecond resolution, remote telemetry, hybrid frame and sampling profiler for games and other applications.

Tracy supports profiling CPU (Direct support is provided for C, C++, Lua, Python and Fortran integration. At the same time, third-party bindings to many other languages exist on the internet, such as Rust, Zig, C#, OCaml, Odin, etc.), GPU (All major graphics/compute APIs: OpenGL, Vulkan, Direct3D 11/12, Metal, OpenCL, CUDA, WebGPU.), memory allocations, locks, context switches, automatically attribute screenshots to captured frames, and much more.

What is this?Tracy is a real-time, nanosecond-resolution frame and sampling profiler for games and other applications, built on remote telemetry so you can profile a running program from a separate viewer.
Is this a library I embed, or a standalone profiling app? Both: you link a lightweight client library into your C/C++ (or other supported language) program to emit telemetry, then connect to it with Tracy's separate profiler/viewer application to capture and inspect the data in real time.
How do I get it running?Grab the compiled Windows x64 binaries and documentation (tracy.pdf) from the Releases page, or build from source following the documented build process for your platform.
Which languages can I instrument directly?Tracy has direct integration support for C, C++, Lua, Python and Fortran; community-maintained bindings also exist for Rust, Zig, C#, OCaml, Odin and more.
Which GPU APIs does it support for GPU profiling? It covers all major graphics and compute APIs: OpenGL, Vulkan, Direct3D 11/12, Metal, OpenCL, CUDA and WebGPU.
Does it only target Windows, or can I run it on Linux and mobile too?Beyond the Windows binaries shipped in releases, the project's CI builds and tests Linux, Android, and WebAssembly (via Emscripten) targets, so it reaches desktop, mobile, and web use cases.
What kinds of events can Tracy capture besides frame timing? It can track CPU and GPU time, memory allocations, lock contention, context switches, and even automatically attach screenshots to the captured frames.
Can I try Tracy before installing anything?Yes, the README links to an interactive demo so you can explore the profiler's UI and capabilities in the browser first.
Is Tracy a new or actively maintained project? The README links a changelog spanning versions v0.2 through v0.8 with new features each release, plus a CppCon 2023 talk, indicating long-running active development.
