Gran Turismo Sport on PC

Gran Turismo Sport running as a native Windows program.

RyGT ports Gran Turismo Sport (CUSA03220, update 1.69) from PlayStation 4 to Windows. The game is not emulated: RyGT's converter turns the game's executable into GTSport.exe, the game code runs directly on your CPU, and RyGT's libraries stand in for the PS4 system. Graphics go through shadGT's Vulkan renderer, built as the game's video output library.

RyGT is a fork of Ryty, the general PS4/PS5 porting tool, with everything GT Sport needs added on top.

Status

Area State
Boot, menus, car and track selection Working
Races Working, about 42-60 fps depending on how many cars are on screen
Race summary and results Working
Audio Working
Controllers Working through SDL
Online features Not supported

Known issues:

Tested on Windows 11 with an Intel i7-13700KF and an RTX 4070Ti. Tested on Windows 11 with an AMD Ryzen 5 9600X and an RTX 3060 12GB

Download

Get the latest build from Releases. A release contains the runtime libraries, the renderer, the converter, a launcher and the GT Sport settings. It contains no game files: you need your own decrypted dump of GT Sport CUSA03220 with update 1.69, and the system modules and fonts from your own PS4 firmware.

Unzip it on the same drive as your dump and run RyGT.exe: pick your game, update, firmware module and font folders, press Set up, then Play. The loader's source is in loader. Manual setup steps are in docs/gt-sport/README.md.

How it fits together

your dump: eboot.bin (1.69) + sce_module
        |
        | unwrap the SELF, then convert with ryty.exe --windows --ps4
        v
GTSport.exe + app0\sce_module\*.guest.prx
        |
        | loads at run time
        v
libs\ RyGT runtime libraries (kernel, libc, save data, audio, input, ...)
+ shadGT renderer (libSceVideoOut.prx: Gnm driver, PM4 processing, Vulkan)

What this repository contains

The renderer lives in shadGT, branch ryty-gpu (ryty_gpu/). It builds shadGT's video output, Gnm driver and Vulkan renderer as libSceVideoOut.prx, plus shadGT's audio, NP and other libraries for RyGT. It carries the GT Sport rendering fixes and the performance work (Vulkan calls on their own thread, cheaper buffer and image tracking).

What is this?RyGT ports the PS4 game Gran Turismo Sport (CUSA03220, update 1.69) to run natively on Windows. It is not an emulator: a converter turns the game's PS4 executable into a Windows GTSport.exe, the original game code runs directly on the CPU, and RyGT's libraries replace the PS4 system while shadGT's Vulkan renderer handles graphics.
Is this an emulator, like a PS4 emulator? No. RyGT converts (relinks) the GT Sport PS4 executable into a native Windows binary so the game's own code runs directly on your CPU, rather than emulating PS4 hardware instructions.
How do I get it running?Download the latest build from Releases, unzip it on the same drive as your own decrypted GT Sport dump, then launch RyGT.exe. Pick your game, update, firmware module and font folders, press Set up, then Play.
What files do I need to supply myself? You need your own decrypted dump of GT Sport CUSA03220 with update 1.69, plus the system modules and fonts extracted from your own PS4 firmware. The release itself contains no game files.
Does it run at full speed, and are there known issues?Races run at roughly 42-60 fps depending on how many cars are on screen, but online features are not supported at all. The first 30 seconds of a race can stutter while shader pipelines compile, and a few draws in the race results screen are skipped due to occasional garbage vertex data.
What hardware has this been tested on?RyGT has been tested on Windows 11 with an Intel i7-13700KF paired with an RTX 4070Ti, and with an AMD Ryzen 5 9600X paired with an RTX 3060 12GB. The loader also supports AMD FSR 3.1/FSR 1 upscaling and an optional NVIDIA DLSS plugin built separately.
How is this different from PS4 emulators like shadPS4?RyGT doesn't emulate PS4 hardware; it relinks the game's own executable into a native Windows binary so the original GT Sport code runs directly on your CPU, similar in spirit to how Wine runs Windows apps on Linux. Graphics are produced by shadGT's Vulkan renderer, a branch of the shadPS4 project's renderer.
What is Ryty and shadGT?Ryty is a general-purpose PS4/PS5 porting tool that RyGT forks and extends with everything GT Sport specifically needs; shadGT is shadPS4's renderer, used here through its ryty-gpu branch to provide the Vulkan video output, audio and other libraries RyGT depends on.
Can I play GT Sport online through RyGT?No, online features are explicitly listed as not supported.
Do I need to worry about the legality of this project?RyGT ships no copyrighted game, firmware, keys or proprietary libraries - you must provide your own legally obtained GT Sport dump and PS4 firmware files. The project frames itself as interoperability, research and preservation work.
