What is this?
dsh-synapse is a visual, non-linear conversation workspace plugin for DeepSeek Harness (DSH) that turns the follow-ups, branches, and sessions in a workspace into one browsable, draggable, zoomable map.
Is this a standalone app or a DSH plugin?
It's a plugin for DeepSeek Harness, not a separate app — it reuses DSH's existing Web Server instead of launching a second app or proxy.
How do I open the conversation map?
After installing the plugin, switch to '会话地图' (Conversation Map) at the top of DSH; you can jump back to the native '对话' view and you're still in the same DSH session.
What does my DSH setup need to support this?
A DeepSeek Harness build with the profile plugin mechanism, Node.js 22.19.0 or newer, and the web profile enabled.
Does the plugin work with any DSH profile?
No, the built-in patch only supports DSH's web profile, so other profiles aren't covered.
Does Synapse change my prompts or model requests?
No. It doesn't touch prompts, model requests, tool schemas, provider routing, or the reusable KV-cache prefix — it only visualizes committed session events.
What happens if I delete Synapse's data folder?
Only the canvas layout data in $DSHHOME/synapse/ is removed; your real DSH session history stays intact since Synapse just projects it.
Can I ask follow-up questions directly from the map?
Yes, you can select text in an answer and carry it straight into a new follow-up question, with editable common suffix phrases.
Why use the map instead of plain DSH chat?
It lets you see continuous follow-ups, branches, and separate sessions as one navigable canvas while keeping DSH's native fork relationships as the real source of truth, instead of scrolling through a flat chat list.
