fullstack-agent

Never used Claude Code? Start at jaredrhod.com: pick your situation and it routes you to the right path.

Runs on: Claude Code only; the installer itself is a Claude Code wizard. The $20 Pro plan is enough.

Not an agent that writes full-stack code. An agent that HAS a full stack: memory, voice, and face, plus an optional set of hands. This repo assembles my whole setup on your machine in one guided conversation, and when it finishes, your screen is a living circuit board with your agent's name on the chip, and it speaks first:

"Hello [you], what are we working on today?"

What you get

Four pieces, each its own open repo, each excellent alone, assembled here into one agent:

Every piece is optional. The wizard asks which ones you want and explains each in plain English before you decide.

Install

You need Claude Code with a Claude subscription. Mac and Linux also use git (macOS offers to install it the first time you use it). Windows needs nothing else: the installer sets up git for you during setup. Then one paste into your terminal.

(The Windows command downloads the toolbox as a zip on purpose, so it works on a machine with no git installed. The installer sets up git for you during setup. Safe to paste as many times as you like: it skips the download when the toolbox is already there, and if an earlier attempt died partway and left a half-finished folder, it downloads again and finishes the job rather than assuming it was already done. If it tells you Claude Code is not installed yet, do the start page first. Heads up for that step on Windows: the Claude Code installer downloads about 330 MB and prints nothing at all while it does, so leave that window alone until it says Installation complete.)

Claude Code opens with the installer already talking to you. (The agent lives in a folder right in your home directory on purpose: on Macs, things that run in the background out of Documents get silently blocked by the system.) Everything after that is a conversation: it asks for your agent's name and personality (or hands you mine, Jarvis, ready to use), which pieces you want, and where your notes live. It does the installing, the configuring, and the wiring itself.

What is this?It is an installer that assembles a complete AI agent setup on your machine, bundling memory, voice, a visual face, and optional hand-tracking controls into one guided Claude Code conversation.
Is this an agent framework or just an installer wizard?It is not code you write against; it is a setup wizard that runs inside Claude Code and wires together four separate open-source repos (memory, voice, face, hands) into a working agent.
Do I need a Claude subscription and anything else?Yes, you need Claude Code with a Claude subscription (the $20 Pro plan is enough); Mac/Linux also need git (auto-installed on first use), and Windows needs nothing extra since the installer sets up git itself.
Any gotchas with the voice or hands features?The voice piece needs a mic plus about 1GB of local models on first run, the hands need a webcam and Chrome, and on Windows the system 'python' is a Microsoft Store placeholder that silently fails, so those pieces rely on a run.bat to find a real interpreter.
Which platforms does it actually support?It works on macOS, Linux, and Windows, with Windows requiring extra handling since it lacks built-in git and Python.
Does my agent's memory and data stay local?Yes, the memory system is plain text files on your machine that your AI reads and writes, and your notes/vault location stays wherever it already lives rather than being moved into the repos.
What happens after installation finishes?The installer leaves three desktop shortcuts named after your agent: Chat for a typed terminal session, Talk for voice plus the visual face, and Barehands for voice plus hand-tracking controls.
What if I already built my own memory vault or voice setup?The wizard detects and adopts your existing identity and vault untouched, while hand-built voice or visualizer code gets replaced with the maintained repo version (your old files are kept on disk, not deleted), and any custom visualizer scene gets promoted into the gallery.
How do I update everything later?Run ./fullstack-agent/update.sh on macOS/Linux, or on Windows just ask your agent to 'update everything and tell me what changed'; your personal files live outside the repos so updates never touch who your agent is or what it remembers.
What are the four pieces that make up the stack?ai-memory-vault for persistent text-based memory, backtalk for push-to-talk voice conversation, ai-visualizer for an animated face that reacts in sync with speech, and the optional barehands for webcam-based hand gesture control.
