What is this?A curated list of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and Production Engineering resources — a hand-picked collection of articles, books, talks, podcasts and tools, maintained as a single GitHub README.
Is this a tool I install, or just a reading list?Just a reading list: one README of curated links, sorted into about twenty topic sections from Culture and Books to On-Call, SRE Tools and SRE Podcasts. Nothing to install or run.
Is it aimed at seasoned SREs or at newcomers? Both. Culture and Reliability target practicing engineers, while the Education section collects onboarding material for newcomers, and a separate Hiring section serves managers recruiting SREs.
Where should a beginner start in a list this big?The Education section. It gathers getting-started talks like 'Getting Started with Site Reliability Engineering' and 'So you want to be an SRE?', a primer on SLIs, SLAs and SLOs, and LinkedIn's School of SRE curriculum written for non-traditional hires and new grads.
Does it cover anything beyond engineering topics, like careers and community?Yes — there are sections on Hiring (interview prep, growing the SRE team at LinkedIn), Conferences & Meetups, Newsletters, Blogs and SRE Podcasts, plus an Education track for people entering the field.
Does the list touch the human side of operations? The Culture section is one of its largest: toil, team building, onboarding and incident analysis, with entries like 'The Softer Side of DevOps' and a whole book on 'The Human Side of Postmortems'.
Does it explain how SRE differs from DevOps?Yes — the Culture section collects several comparison pieces, including 'The difference between Site Reliability Engineering, System Administration, and DevOps' and 'SRE vs. DevOps: competing standards or close friends?'.
