What is this?
A curated list of design systems — the documented principles, best practices and UI/pattern libraries that help a team build digital products consistently.
Is this a tool I install, or a reference I browse?
A reference you browse, not software you install: a single table where each row is a design system, with columns marking Components, Voice & Tone guidance, Designers Kits and public source code.
Where should a team that's picking a design system start?
Start with rows resembling your product: entries with all four marks — Google Material Design, IBM Carbon and Atlassian, for example — are the most complete, combining components, kits and writing guidance.
Does the repo include the actual components or design files?
No — the repo holds no code or kit files itself; every entry just links out to the system's own site or repository, and nothing in the table is rated or reviewed.
Which big-name design systems are in it?
Google Material Design, Adobe Spectrum, IBM Carbon, Microsoft Fluent UI, Atlassian, GitHub Primer and GitLab Pajamas, plus brand systems from Audi, Alaska Airlines and Decathlon.
Can I copy or remix this list for my own team?
Yes — the repo is dedicated to the public domain under the Unlicense, so forking, copying and remixing the whole list are all fine.
