What is this?A curated list of programming style guides, best practices, and coding conventions — one page collecting links to official and community guidelines for dozens of languages, platforms, and tools.
Is this a tool I install, or just something I read?Just a reading reference: a single README of annotated links in the awesome-list format. Nothing to install or run — you open it, find your language or platform, and follow the guides.
How is the list organized, and how do I find guides for my stack? The README is split into sections: Programming Languages, Development Environment, Platforms, Frameworks, CMS, and Tools. Jump to your language — for example, Python links the official PEP 8 style guide — and pick the conventions you want to follow.
Which programming languages does it cover?Over 40 sections, from mainstream languages like C++, Java, JavaScript, Python, Go, Rust, and Swift to niche ones like Brainfuck, Nim, Fortran, and Delphi, plus formats like JSON, Markdown, and XML.
Are style guides from big companies included?Yes — Google, Airbnb, Uber, Mozilla, LLVM, NASA, LinkedIn, Databricks, and Alibaba guides sit alongside community efforts like the Ruby Style Guide and official docs like Effective Go and PEP 8.
Does it cover anything security-related?Yes — the entries include .NET Secure Coding Guidelines, secure coding guidelines for Erlang, the API Security Checklist, and the Solcurity standard for Solidity smart contracts.
How does the list stay tidy — are entries checked? The repo runs awesome-lint in CI to keep list formatting consistent, and a separate stale workflow flags inactive issues and pull requests. Individual links can still age over time.
