dream-loop

By @anshuc.

An agent skill that builds a game, app, or scene with impressive visuals, by creating a closed loop:

  1. AI "dreams" up a high-quality target screenshot using image generation
  2. AI builds with this target in mind
  3. A separate AI critic compares the live screenshot to the target and provides feedback
  4. AI loops back to step 2 until critic is satisfied
  5. Optionally, AI loops back to step 1 and dreams up an even better target based on the current state.

Installation

npx skills add achimala/dream-loop, or clone into your agent's skills directory, or paste the link into your agent and tell it to figure it out.

Prerequisites

You need an AI agent with:

Install Blender if you want custom 3D modeling. The Blender MCP or scripting interface is preferred to computer use; it produces better results.

At the moment this is only tested with GPT-6 Astra in Codex. Other strong models like Claude Fable 5.1 can likely work too.

Example

Prompt:

Build me a graphics demo: isometric camera, voxel-ish art style with realistic shading and reflective wet floors, a character in an interesting scene. Fantasy setting (think Elden Ring, Diablo). Three.js in browser, >60fps. Don't download assets. Time limit of 1 hour. Controls: click to move the character, camera lazy-follows; drag to rotate camera; scroll to zoom in/out. No gameplay for now. World should feel alive: motion, animations, subtle environmental behaviors. Area around player should look expansive, but only allow movement in a limited space. No need to confirm the art with me or ask questions, just go!

I'd love to hear feedback, see results, and accept edits to the skill.

If you open a PR, please provide example results produced by the skill, to ensure the changes don't regress performance.

What is this?An agent skill that makes a coding AI build a game, app, or 3D scene with impressive visuals by looping: dream up a target screenshot with image generation, build toward it, have a critic subagent compare the live result to the target, and repeat until it matches.
Is this a standalone app or something I plug into my coding agent? It is a skill file/folder you add to an AI coding agent (like Codex) so the agent follows the dream-build-critique workflow; it is not an app you run yourself.
How do I install this skill?Run 'npx skills add achimala/dream-loop', or clone the repo into your agent's skills directory, or just paste the repo link to your agent and tell it to figure it out.
What does my AI agent need to be able to use this skill? The agent needs image generation access (built-in like Codex/Grok, or via an API such as a Gemini key), vision input to see screenshots, and ideally subagent support; Blender is optional but recommended if you want custom 3D modeling.
Will this work with any model, or only specific ones?So far it has only been tested with GPT-6 Astra in Codex; the author says other strong models like Claude Fable 5.1 can likely work too, but that's unverified.
What exactly happens in each loop iteration? The AI dreams up a high-quality target screenshot via image generation, builds toward it, then a separate critic AI compares the live screenshot to the target and gives feedback; this repeats until the critic is satisfied, optionally re-dreaming an even better target along the way.
Why does Blender help here instead of just screen automation? The README recommends using Blender's MCP or scripting interface rather than computer-use automation for 3D modeling, since it produces better results.
Is there an example of what this can build? The README includes a sample prompt for a Three.js isometric voxel-style fantasy scene with wet reflective floors and character controls, built with GPT-6 Astra in Codex, with a link to a live demo.
