What GitHub.Locker is
GitHub.Locker is an independent catalog and organizer for GitHub repositories. Anyone can browse it in Explore, by topic, or through today's biggest risers; signing in with GitHub adds your own starred repositories, folders of saved tag selections, favorite tags and notifications. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by GitHub.
How projects are found
New projects are collected every day from public sources: GitHub Trending, Trendshift, GH Archive, Hacker News, Lobsters and other public lists of popular repositories. A project joins the catalog once it has more than 100 stars and a push within the last year. Projects already in the catalog stay in it and keep being updated.
How projects are ranked
The main ranking is by stars gained: how many stars a project earned over the last day, week, month or year, counted from GitHub's daily star history. A GitHub day closes at midnight Pacific time, so “today” on the catalog follows that day. You can also sort by total stars and filter by languages, platforms, frameworks, licenses and tags.
Where the project briefs come from
The short questions and answers on each project card are written by an AI model from the project's public README and GitHub metadata, and kept to what those sources say. They can still contain mistakes; if you spot one, write to [email protected] and it will be corrected.
Who runs it
GitHub.Locker is operated by Roman in the USA. For questions, ideas or corrections, email [email protected]. How your data is handled is described in the Privacy Policy, and the rules of use in the Terms.
