What is this?
An open-source archive of PDF textbooks for Chinese primary school, middle school, high school and university courses, currently focused mainly on the full math curriculum from grade 1 through university.
Is this a tool or just a pile of PDF files?
It is mostly a plain file repository organized into folders by school stage, grade and semester, with one small bundled Windows utility used only to reassemble PDFs that GitHub forced the author to split.
How do I find and download the textbook I need?
Browse into the folder for your stage and grade (for example primary-school math has a folder per grade/semester) and download the PDF directly; no install or account is needed.
Why are some PDFs split into multiple files, and how do I fix that?
GitHub rejects single uploads over 100MB and warns over 50MB, so any textbook bigger than 50MB is split into 35MB chunks named like '.pdf.1' and '.pdf.2'. You merge them by putting 'mergePDFs-windows-amd64.exe' in the same folder and double-clicking it.
Who is this collection mainly aimed at?
Students and parents inside China who need these materials for free, plus overseas Chinese families who want their kids to keep following the mainland curriculum.
Why did the author build this instead of pointing people to official sites?
Official materials are already free, but some sellers were charging for private watermarked copies while access stayed limited for many people, so the author open-sourced the collection to fight that and promote equal access to compulsory education materials.
Can I get fresh, un-split copies instead of downloading these PDFs?
If you're in mainland China with decent bandwidth, the README suggests using the separate open-source 'tchMaterial-parser' project to re-download originals directly; this repo is aimed at people with slower access to mainland servers, like overseas users.
Does the collection cover subjects beyond math?
The project description promises PDFs for all K-12 and university textbooks, but the folder listing shown in the README currently only details math materials from grade one through university level.
How can I support the project?
The README links to a Telegram community for updates and includes a donation QR code for people who want to help maintain and expand the archive.
