Preface

QSCTech/zju-icicles )

What is this?A community-curated collection of course materials for Peking University: past exams, slides, notes and course advice, organized by course and free to download. The title literally means 'an unofficial collection of course materials for your school'.
Is this actual course files I can download, or just a directory of links?Real files, not just links: per-course folders hold PDFs of slides and past papers, a Markdown README per course with reviews and tips, plus some LaTeX sources — the repo's dominant language is TeX.
How do I get the materials for my courses?Nothing to install: open the project's GitHub Pages site and click the resource links of the courses you need to download them.
Is this an official PKU resource, and can I trust what's inside? It is unofficial — the README opens its disclaimer with 'this is not the Peking University library' — and maintainers promise nothing about the accuracy or truthfulness of the materials, so quality varies from course to course.
I'm not at Peking University — is there anything here for me?The course files themselves are PKU-specific, but the README links similar course-material collections for other Chinese universities, including Zhejiang, Tsinghua, SJTU, Nanjing and Zhengzhou.
How can I add my own materials to the collection?Fork the repo, use GitHub's web Upload button in the relevant course folder (rename the folder in the address bar to create a new one), then open a PR. You can also attach files to an Issue or email [email protected] and maintainers will add them.
Why did the author start this project?Out of frustration that valuable materials and know-how were passed on informally, scattered across group chats, and then lost. The goal is to turn hidden word-of-mouth resources into an open, shared collection so later students don't repeat the same detours.
Are there copyright concerns with the materials?Uploaders are asked to make sure there are no copyright problems before sharing slides, and infringement reports can be sent to [email protected]. The project positions itself purely as a collector of existing material whose rights remain with the original authors.
What file formats will I find inside?Mostly PDFs, which are the recommended format for uploaded slides, plus Markdown READMEs with course reviews in each course folder and some LaTeX sources — TeX is the repo's main language on GitHub.
