About

DownVid is a modern, high-performance, open-source desktop video downloader for macOS, Windows, and Linux.

Built as a graphical frontend for yt-dlp and FFmpeg, it removes the complexity of command-line tools and provides a clean, native, and ad-free experience.

Supported sites

DownVid supports 1000+ video and audio sites through yt-dlp. A few common ones:

Douyin, Xiaohongshu, Kuaishou, Xigua, Bilibili YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X (Twitter), Facebook

Install

Download the latest build from GitHub Releases and pick the package for your OS.

Build from source

Requirements

yt-dlp and FFmpeg do not need to be installed beforehand. At runtime DownVid detects and reuses whatever is already on your machine, and can download them in-app when missing.

FAQ

It says yt-dlp or FFmpeg is missing. What now?

The installer does not bundle them. DownVid looks for a usable copy already on your system at startup; if it cannot find one, you can download it from the prompt, or manage it later under Settings → Runtime dependencies.

macOS says the developer cannot be verified. What now?

The first time you open it, right-click the app in Finder and choose Open, or allow it under System Settings → Privacy & Security. If it still fails, see the troubleshooting guide.

Some videos fail to download. What now?

Many sites require you to be signed in. Make sure you are allowed to access the content, then let DownVid read your browser session or import a cookies.txt. Site changes can also affect extraction success.

Это самостоятельный загрузчик или просто графическая оболочка для yt-dlp?Это настольное приложение на Electron с графическим интерфейсом, которое оборачивает yt-dlp и FFmpeg, чтобы вместо работы с командной строкой вы пользовались удобным полноценным приложением.
Мне нужно сначала установить yt-dlp и FFmpeg?Нет. DownVid сам находит уже установленные в системе копии, а если их нет — скачивает и управляет собственными изолированными копиями yt-dlp и FFmpeg прямо внутри приложения.
Скачивание видео всегда работает?Нет. Многие сайты требуют входа в аккаунт, поэтому может понадобиться разрешить DownVid читать cookies вашего браузера или импортировать файл cookies.txt, а при изменении сайта скачивание может временно сломаться.
Там есть реклама или слежка?Нет. В нём нет стороннего мусора в комплекте, фоновой телеметрии и принудительных водяных знаков, а код полностью открыт под лицензией MIT.
Поддерживается ли быстрое параллельное скачивание?Да — при прямых ссылках используется многопоточная очередь загрузки фрагментов (по умолчанию до 16 потоков), при желании можно подключить aria2 для загрузки в несколько соединений, а HLS/DASH-фрагменты скачиваются параллельно.
Какие китайские платформы поддерживаются отдельно?Для Douyin, Xiaohongshu, Kuaishou, Xigua и Bilibili есть отдельные встроенные парсеры, а более 1000 международных сайтов вроде YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook и X поддерживаются через yt-dlp.
