What is this?Multica is a self-hostable workspace where you assign issues to AI coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and others) the way you'd assign work to a teammate — they pick up the task, report progress, and hand it back for review.
Is this a library or a full app? It's a full application with web, desktop (Electron), and mobile (iOS) clients, backed by a Go backend and PostgreSQL database — not something you import into code.
How do I get it running?Sign up at multica.ai for cloud, download Multica Desktop for macOS/Windows/Linux, or self-host the whole stack with Docker Compose or Helm. For self-hosting on Windows, set $env:MULTICAMODE="with-server" and run the PowerShell installer that pulls images from GHCR.
Do I need a coding agent CLI already installed?Yes — the one prerequisite is that the machine running agents needs at least one supported agent CLI installed and signed in, such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor. Multica drives these CLIs; it doesn't ship or replace them.
Is the iOS app available on the App Store? Not yet — the iOS app currently only builds from source onto your own device, it isn't on the App Store.
Which platforms does it run on?The same workspace is available on macOS, Windows, Linux, and as a mobile app for iPhone and iPad, plus a web interface.
Does self-hosting send any data back home?A self-hosted server sends one anonymous, deployment-level snapshot a day (release version plus bucketed counts, no names/content/IDs), and this can be disabled by setting DONOTTRACK=1.
How many agent CLIs does Multica support?26 providers today, including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot, Kimi, OpenCode, Grok, and more — switching between them is just a dropdown choice, not a migration.
Can agents work unattended on a schedule?Yes, through Autopilots, which run standups, audits, and reports on a cron without anyone needing to trigger them manually.
Can I chat with a running agent mid-task?Yes — you can reply while an agent works and the message lands in the current run (supported for Claude Code, Codex, and Grok today), not queued for the next one.
Why is it called Multica? It stands for Multiplexed Information and Computing Agent, a nod to Multics, the 1960s time-sharing OS, reflecting the idea that both humans and agents now multiplex work on one system.
