What is this?
Mantine is a fully featured React components library: @mantine/core alone ships 100+ components, and companion packages cover forms, charts, notifications, editors and more.
Is it one single library, or a set of packages I can pick from?
It's a family of scoped npm packages. @mantine/core is the 100+ component core and @mantine/hooks adds 80+ hooks; everything else — forms, charts, notifications, editor — is a separate opt-in package.
How do I add it to my project?
Install the packages you need with npm into an existing React app — typically npm install @mantine/core @mantine/hooks — then follow the setup guide in the documentation.
Does it pull a lot of extra dependencies into my app?
Your app just needs to be a React web project. Under the hood the library builds on Emotion for styles and floating-ui for positioning, and npm resolves those automatically.
Can I use it for React Native or desktop apps, or is it web only?
It's aimed at React web apps — the packages, components and docs are all web-oriented, with no mobile or desktop variant offered.
Is it free to use, including commercially?
Yes. Mantine is MIT-licensed open source, free for any use; ongoing development is funded by backers on OpenCollective rather than paid plans.
Does it support dark mode?
Yes — dark mode and dark theme support are listed among the project's official topics, so theming is treated as a core part of the library rather than an add-on.
What add-on packages come besides the core components?
A forms management library, recharts-based charts, a notifications system, a Ctrl + K command center (@mantine/spotlight), a Tiptap rich text editor, drag 'n' drop file uploads, a carousel, a centralized modals manager, navigation progress and a schedule component.
Can I use the hooks without adopting the components?
Yes — @mantine/hooks is a standalone package, so a project can take just the hooks for state and UI management without pulling in the component library.
What are similar projects?
chakra-ui, arc-library, styled-components, astryx, tabler, tamagui, semi-design, BlockNote

command-palette, dark-theme, css-in-js, uikit, rich-text-editor, drag-and-drop, syntax-highlighting, hooks, dark-mode, charts, notifications, design-system
