What is this?Loop Habit Tracker is a free, ad-free Android app for creating and maintaining good habits. It shows detailed graphs and statistics of your progress, and its minimalistic interface is optimized for speed, working well even on older phones.
How do I get it on my phone?Install it from the Google Play Store or F-Droid. You can also sideload an APK from the GitHub releases page, but that version will not update automatically.
Does it cost money, and are any features locked behind payments? No. Every feature is free for all users, there are no in-app purchases, no ads, and no artificial limits on how many habits you can track.
Is this an Android app, or is there an iPhone version too?It is a native Android app written in Kotlin. The README only lists Google Play and F-Droid as install sources, so there is no iOS version.
Do I need an internet connection or an account to use it?No. Loop works fully offline and needs no account registration. Your data is never sent to anyone — neither the developers nor third parties have access to it.
What happens to my habit strength if I miss a few days?Every repetition makes a habit stronger and every missed day makes it weaker, but a few missed days after a long streak will not completely destroy your progress, unlike many don't-break-the-chain apps.
Can I track habits that are not daily, like three times a week?Yes. Besides daily habits, Loop supports flexible schedules such as 3 times per week or every other day.
Can I check off a habit without opening the app?Yes. Colorful home-screen widgets let you track habits right from your home screen, and each habit can have its own reminder notification that you can check or dismiss directly.
Can I get my data out if I switch to another app?Yes. You can export your data to a CSV spreadsheet or a SQLite database file, and power users can even add checkmarks from other apps such as Tasker.
