Snipe-IT - Open Source Asset Management System

This is a FOSS project for asset management in IT Operations. Knowing who has which laptop, when it was purchased in order to depreciate it correctly, handling software licenses, etc.

It is built on Laravel 12.

Snipe-IT is actively developed and we release quite frequently. (Check out the live demo here.)

[!TIP] This is web-based software. This means there is no executable file (aka no .exe files), and it must be run on a web server and accessed through a web browser. It runs on any Mac OSX, any flavor of Linux, as well as Windows, and we have a Docker image available if that's what you're into.

Since the release of the JSON REST API, several third-party developers have been developing modules and libraries to work with Snipe-IT.

[!NOTE]
As these were created by third-parties, Snipe-IT cannot provide support for these project, and you should contact the developers directly if you need assistance. Additionally, Snipe-IT makes no guarantees as to the reliability, accuracy or maintainability of these libraries. Use at your own risk. :)

Libraries & Modules

We also have a handful of Google Apps scripts to help with various tasks.

Mobile Apps

We're currently working on our own mobile app, but in the meantime, check out these third-party apps that work with Snipe-IT:

Searching Database…

What is this?Snipe-IT is a free, open-source IT asset and license management system for tracking who has which laptop, software licenses, and purchase/depreciation info.
Is this an app I install, or something I run on a server? It's a web application, not an installable program — there's no .exe file; you run it on a web server (built on Laravel) and access it through a browser. A Docker image is also provided.
How do I get it running?Follow the official installation manual to set it up on your own web server, or use the provided Docker image instead of configuring a server from scratch.
What do I need to run it besides a web server? It's built on Laravel 12 (PHP), so you need a PHP/web server stack meeting the documented requirements.
Does it have an official mobile app?Not yet — the team is still building its own mobile app, but several third-party apps (SnipeMate, Snipe-Scan, AssetX) already work with Snipe-IT on iOS and Android.
Which operating systems can host it?It runs on any Mac OSX, any flavor of Linux, and Windows, plus there's a Docker image if you prefer containers.
Does Snipe-IT expose an API for integrations?Yes, it has a JSON REST API, which has let third parties build a PowerShell wrapper, a .NET module (SnipeSharp), Python sync scripts, and more.
Can I sync devices from Jamf, Kandji, or UniFi automatically?Community scripts like jamf2snipe, Kandji2Snipe, and UniFi-to-Snipe-IT can sync those platforms' devices into Snipe-IT, but they are third-party tools the core team doesn't officially support.
Is the project actively maintained?Yes — Snipe-IT is actively developed with frequent releases, has a live demo, and maintains an active Discord community.
