ganjoor-data

▶ Live demo — مین‌گنجور, a minimal reading app built entirely on this data, running client-side in your browser with no server of its own.

Public, git-tracked export of Ganjoor's poetry content — poets, categories, and poems, allowlisted to contain none of the site's user-account-linked data (comments, bookmarks, edit history, etc.). Generated from GanjoorService; see that repo if you're looking for the application this data set is exported from, or want to run your own copy of Ganjoor locally using this data.

Currently tracks 240 poets / 135319 poems, generated 2026-09-01T05:06:57.6351851Z.

Where do I start?

Not included

No comments, bookmarks, reading history, edit/correction history, or any other data linked to a user account. See API.md for the full list of what each file kind does and doesn't contain.

Searching Database…

What is this?A public, git-tracked export of the poetry content from Ganjoor (poets, categories, and poems), generated from the GanjoorService backend. It currently covers 240 poets and 135,319 poems.
Is this a dataset, a database, or a live service? It is a static dataset of JSON files served straight from GitHub via the jsDelivr CDN — there's no server, database, or API backend involved.
How do I actually fetch this data?Start from manifest.json, which lists every poet's id, nickname, and path plus URL templates for the other file kinds, then follow API.md for the plain HTTPS/jsDelivr fetch patterns.
Do I need to run GanjoorService or any server myself? No — the data is fetched directly over HTTPS via jsDelivr, no server setup required; GanjoorService is only needed if you want to run your own live copy of Ganjoor instead of using this static export.
What's missing from this export compared to the real site?Nothing tied to user accounts: no comments, bookmarks, reading history, or edit/correction history is included.
Who would actually use this?Developers building Persian poetry reading apps or tools who want Ganjoor's content without running the full GanjoorService backend — the demo app مین‌گنجور is built entirely on it.
Does this leak any user data from Ganjoor? No — the export is explicitly allowlisted to exclude anything tied to a user account.
What is مین‌گنجور (Min Ganjoor)? It's the live demo reading app for this dataset — a minimal, client-side Persian poetry reader with no backend server, built entirely on the JSON files in this repo.
How much poetry is actually in here?As of the latest generation (2026-09-01), it tracks 240 poets and 135,319 poems.
Where does the data actually come from? It's generated from GanjoorService, the application backend behind the main Ganjoor site; check that repo if you want to run Ganjoor yourself instead of just consuming this export.
