Searching Database…

What is this?A curated index of PostgreSQL software, libraries, tools and resources, modeled on awesome-mysql. It gathers the whole ecosystem in one place: backup tools, GUIs, HA clusters, monitoring, tutorials and more.
How is the list organized — one big index or split into sections? One README split into themed sections — Backups, GUI, CLI, High-Availability, Monitoring, Extensions, Docker images, Kubernetes and more — plus a Resources part with tutorials, blogs, videos and community links.
I'm new to Postgres — where should I start with this list?Head to the Resources section near the end: it collects tutorials, official documentation, newsletters, videos, community hubs and roadmaps for learning PostgreSQL from scratch.
Is everything on the list free, or are paid tools mixed in?Plenty of entries are open source, but commercial products are listed too and clearly labeled — DataGrip, TablePlus, Postico and Datadog all carry a Commercial Software mark.
Is this mainly for app developers, or do DBAs and ops folks get something out of it too? Both crowds. Developers get GUI and CLI clients plus language bindings; operators get High-Availability tools like Patroni, backups like pgBackRest and wal-g, and monitoring like Percona's PMM.
Does it cover ways to scale Postgres beyond a single server?Yes — the Server section lists distributed and specialized forks: Postgres-XL, YugabyteDB, Apache Cloudberry, plus FerretDB (a MongoDB-style database built on Postgres) and AgensGraph (a graph database).
I need a backup strategy — what does it point me to?A whole Backups section: Barman, pgBackRest, wal-g (supports S3, GCS, Azure and block-level incremental backups), pghoard for cloud object stores, and Docker-based options like pgbackweb.
Which GUI clients does it highlight?Dozens of them: pgAdmin, DBeaver, Beekeeper Studio and Metabase for dashboards, macOS-only Postico and TablePlus, web-based pgweb and phpPgAdmin, plus modelers like pgModeler.
Can I find managed Postgres hosting here, or only self-hosted tools?Managed hosting has its own PaaS (PostgreSQL as a Service) section, and there are separate Docker images and Kubernetes sections if you would rather run it yourself.
