Husk Downloads

Android app launcher for iOS.

Drop in an APK, tap it, and the Android app opens full-screen.

JIT

Husk needs JIT, which on iOS takes an attached debugger. Use StikDebug, or Husk's built-in StikJIT helper (iOS 26+), which on iOS 27 can pair with your iPhone from Settings with no computer. The app walks you through it; see docs/06-built-in-jit.md.

Builds

Every push builds an unsigned Husk.ipa in GitHub Actions (build-ipa.yml). It is attached to the run as an artifact, ready for AltStore, SideStore or TrollStore to sign and install. The first run builds QEMU and its dependencies from scratch, which takes a couple of hours; after that they are cached.

Licence

GPL-2.0-or-later. Husk links QEMU, which is GPLv2, so the shipped binary is a combined GPLv2 work and the full source is public. It cannot go on the App Store — both because of that and because it needs get-task-allow plus a debugger attaching at runtime. See docs/01-licensing.md.

What is this?Husk is an Android app launcher for iPhone: drop in an APK, tap it, and the Android app opens full-screen, running either natively or through emulation.
Does it run Android apps natively or through emulation? It does both depending on the app — Husk links QEMU to emulate Android, while some apps can run natively; the project is described as running Android 'Natively or Emulated'.
How do I get this installed on my iPhone?Grab the unsigned 'Husk.ipa' artifact from the project's GitHub Actions build, then sign and install it using AltStore, SideStore, or TrollStore.
Do I need a jailbreak or just JIT enabled? No jailbreak is required, but you need JIT working via an attached debugger — use StikDebug, or Husk's own built-in StikJIT helper on iOS 26 and up.
Can I just get this from the App Store? No — it can never ship on the App Store, both because of its GPL licensing and because it needs the get-task-allow entitlement plus a debugger attached at runtime.
Which iOS version do I need?iOS 26 or later for the built-in StikJIT helper; on iOS 27 it can additionally pair with your iPhone straight from Settings without a computer.
How long does the first build take? The very first GitHub Actions run has to compile QEMU and its dependencies from scratch, which takes a couple of hours; after that, the build artifacts are cached and subsequent builds are much faster.
What is StikJIT?StikJIT is Husk's own built-in helper (available on iOS 26+) for enabling the JIT compiler Husk needs, so you do not have to rely on a separate tool like StikDebug.
Why does an Android launcher need a debugger attached?iOS normally blocks just-in-time compilation unless a debugger is attached to the app, so Husk relies on that debugger attachment (via StikDebug or its own StikJIT helper) to get the JIT performance it needs for running Android apps.
