⚡ Executive Summary

Generative audio models (Suno, Udio, ElevenLabs, Google SynthID) inject proprietary synthetic watermarks, high-frequency ultrasonic carriers (19.5 kHz), phase-locked spread spectrums, and latent provenance tags into generated waveforms. When musicians, producers, or sound designers incorporate AI stems, sound effects, or background textures into human compositions, their entire track becomes forensically tagged for platform surveillance and automated copyright attribution.

NaSuno is a defensive, mathematical signal processing framework designed to decouple human musical creativity from synthetic platform tracking. Built on ISO 226 equal-loudness contours, Bark-scale critical-band psychoacoustics, and zero-phase IIR notch filtering, NaSuno strips forensic tracking markers while maintaining complete spectral transparency, transient punch, and stereo correlation.

What is this?NaSuno is a Python digital signal processing toolkit that strips synthetic AI watermarks (such as Suno, Udio, and Google SynthID ultrasonic carriers and spread-spectrum fingerprints) out of generated audio so tracks can't be traced back to the generating platform.
Does it work against every AI audio generator, or just Suno? The anti-attribution matrix targets multiple platforms, Suno's 19.5 kHz ultrasonic carrier, Udio, and ElevenLabs/Google SynthID style fingerprints, covering 14 separate watermark vectors, but effectiveness against future or updated watermarking schemes isn't guaranteed.
What happens to the hidden metadata inside my audio files?NaSuno strips hidden provenance metadata including C2PA manifests, RIFF INFO chunks, ID3 tags, and BWF acoustic metadata from the audio container, aiming to leave no residual tracking strings.
What does 'zero perceptible quality degradation' actually mean here?Processing is confined to acoustically masked zones defined by ISO 226 equal-loudness contours and Bark-scale critical bands, so the watermark removal is mathematically inaudible rather than just subjectively quiet.
Why bother removing watermarks from AI-made stems? The author frames it as protecting creative privacy: once AI audio is mixed into a human composition, platform watermarks keep tagging the whole track for surveillance and automated copyright attribution even after it's been transformed.
How does it cut the 19.5 kHz carrier without wrecking the mix?It uses a zero-phase, bi-directional (forward-backward) IIR notch filter with a high Q factor so cymbal air and vocal breath survive while the tracking tone drops below the noise floor.
