What is this?
vphone-aio is a single shell script that downloads, merges, and launches a jailbroken iOS 26.1 virtual phone (vphone) on your Mac, with the jailbreak bootstrap already installed.
How do I get the vphone running?
Install the prerequisites, disable SIP and set the amfigetoutofmyway=1 boot flag, clone the repo (the image is split into parts and auto-downloads), then run vphone-aio.sh and wait for it to merge the files into the final VM.
What does my Mac need before I start?
You need more than 128GB of free disk space, SIP disabled with the amfigetoutofmyway=1 boot argument set, and a VNC client such as RealVNC or macOS Screen Sharing to view the phone once it boots.
Any pitfalls before I spend time on this?
The download is around 12GB (about 20 minutes) and merging the split files takes another ~15 minutes, and you must disable System Integrity Protection, which weakens your Mac's security. The author now recommends switching to vphone-cli instead for better updates and support.
What is vphone?
vphone is a jailbroken iOS virtual machine environment originally built by Lakr233 (non-tart repo), letting you run a full iOS device inside your Mac and view it over VNC.
What's the difference between vphone-aio and vphone-cli?
vphone-aio is this original one-script downloader and merger, which the author says is now largely superseded; vphone-cli is the actively maintained version that already supports iOS 27 with better updates and support.
How do I check the downloaded files aren't corrupted?
The repo publishes SHA-256 checksums so you can manually verify the downloaded split files before letting the script merge them.
Why does the script require disabling SIP?
The jailbreak bootstrap needs the amfigetoutofmyway=1 boot flag to take effect, and that flag only works once System Integrity Protection (SIP) is disabled.
