world.execute-me-ascii README

The project's README from github.com/yym8224961/world.execute-me-ascii. As one markdown file: README.md.

world.execute(me); —ascii

world.execute(me);

Mili《world.execute(me);》的字符动画。

python3 world-execute-mv.pyz

python3 world-execute-mv.pyz --start 158.7 --autoplay

xcode-select --install

./run.sh

python3 tools/build_bundle.py
python3 tests/test_bundle.py

原曲与歌词:Mili《world.execute(me);》。

What is this?A terminal ASCII-animation music video player for Mili's song 'world.execute(me);', featuring bilingual Chinese/English subtitles synced to the original track.
Is this a full app or just a script I run in Terminal? It's a single packaged file (a .pyz) that bundles the music, animation, subtitles and audio player together, which you run inside macOS Terminal.
How do I get the player running?Download world-execute-mv-macos.zip from this repo's Releases, unzip it, then run it from Terminal or by double-clicking 运行单文件.command, and press space to start.
What do I need installed to use it?macOS 12 or newer and Python 3.9 or newer; the bundled audio component covers both Apple Silicon and Intel, and the terminal player itself only relies on the Python standard library.
Does it need a specific terminal size to look right?Full screen is recommended, with a terminal of at least 64x24 columns, ideally 128x44 or larger for the best visual effect.
Is this available for Windows or Linux too?No, it's built specifically for macOS 12+; there's no Windows or Linux build mentioned.
Does it need an internet connection to play? No, everything runs locally and no internet connection is needed during playback; temp files are cleaned up on normal exit.
What keyboard controls does the player support?Space toggles play/pause, left/right arrows seek 5 seconds back/forward, R restarts from the beginning, Q quits, H shows full help, and number keys 1-5 jump to specific chapters.
How is the music embedded without a separate MP3 file? The song, animation, subtitles and spectrum data are all packed inside the single world-execute-mv.pyz file. On launch they're unpacked to the user's temp directory and cleaned up on exit — it's plain embedding, not DRM.
What's actually in this repository versus the Release download? The repo is an archived snapshot containing the player code, subtitles, spectrum data and build tooling, but the actual music audio only ships inside the packaged Release zip, not in the source tree.
