What is this?
A large Java learning repository packed with hands-on example modules covering six Spring-related technology stacks: Spring Boot 2.X, Spring Cloud, Spring Cloud Alibaba, Dubbo, distributed message queues, and distributed transactions.
Is this a working app or a tutorial series?
It is not a single runnable app but a collection of standalone 'lab' Maven modules (lab-01, lab-23, labx-05, etc.), each demonstrating one technology and paired with a companion blog article explaining it.
How do I run one of the labs?
Clone the repo, pick the lab module you want (e.g. lab-11-spring-data-redis), and uncomment its entry in the root pom.xml, since every module is commented out by default because the repo has 50000+ lines of example code.
What do I need besides Java and Maven?
Depending on the lab you run, you also need the matching middleware set up separately: Redis, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Kafka/RabbitMQ/RocketMQ/ActiveMQ, Nacos, Zookeeper, Seata, etc.
Is every lab actually finished?
No, a handful of planned labs (Docker, RSocket, Tars, Pinpoint, Elastic APM, Loki, Spring Cloud CircuitBreaker) are marked as still in progress rather than delivered yet.
Who is this repo for?
Java backend developers who already know basic Spring Boot and want deep, practical examples of the broader Spring/Alibaba microservices ecosystem rather than shallow intro articles.
What's covered in the 'Message Queue' column?
Separate labs walk through RocketMQ, Kafka, RabbitMQ, and ActiveMQ, including cluster, broadcast, and ordered/transactional messaging patterns.
Which observability tools are demonstrated?
Labs show Spring Boot Actuator and Admin, Prometheus+Grafana and CAT for monitoring, ELK+Filebeat for logging, and SkyWalking/Zipkin for distributed tracing.
Does it include API gateway examples?
Yes, it covers Spring Cloud Gateway, Netflix Zuul, and the Chinese gateway APISIX, plus a benchmark comparing Gateway vs Zuul performance.
Is each lab explained anywhere besides the code?
Yes, nearly every lab module links to a companion 芋道 (Yudao) blog post that walks through the code in depth.
What are similar projects?

Which topics is it in?
