Python README

The project's README from github.com/walter201230/Python. As one markdown file: README.md.

Python

What is this? This is a free Python tutorial for complete beginners (小白), covering everything from installation to syntax, OOP, metaclasses, decorators, and modern tooling like pyproject and uv.
Is this a book or an interactive course? Both: there's an interactive online site where you write code in the browser and get auto-graded to unlock the next lesson, and a plain documentation site for reading through chapters or quick reference.
How do I start learning?Pick either the interactive site (recommended for absolute beginners, code runs and grades in-browser) or the documentation site (recommended for reading through systematically), then work through the chapters in order starting from 'Why learn Python?'.
Do I need to install Python myself? The tutorial itself walks you through installing Python and setting up PyCharm as part of the first lessons, so no prior setup is required.
Can the interactive site track my progress across devices? No — the interactive learning site is static (kept that way to save hosting costs), so it cannot sync your progress across different devices.
Is this for complete beginners or people who already know some programming? It's explicitly aimed at complete beginners (小白), focusing on solid, step-by-step fundamentals rather than quick shortcuts.
What Python version does the tutorial target? It's written for Python 3.10+, with some chapters noting new features specific to 3.11, 3.12, and 3.13.
Does it cover more than just basic syntax?Yes — beyond basics like lists, dicts, loops, functions, and OOP, it also covers magic methods, enums, metaclasses, threading/processes, regex, closures, decorators, type annotations, async/await, dataclasses/Pydantic, and modern tooling (pyproject, uv, ruff, pytest, logging, typer).
Why was the project updated in 2026?The author used AI to fully rewrite and modernize the tutorial content and build the new interactive practice website, noting that despite the rise of AI coding, the tutorial's traffic kept growing steadily.
How is the content organized? It's a single long-form curriculum moving from setup and basic data types through control flow, functions, OOP, modules, and advanced topics like metaclasses and concurrency, ending with modern engineering practices.
