Arrmada

Your whole media server in one app — movies, TV, books and requests, without the *arr stack.

A TV series in Arrmada: seasons, episodes and what it's searching for

Arrmada finds, downloads and organises your movies, TV, books and audiobooks, lets your household request what they want to watch, and keeps your Plex or Jellyfin library tidy — with one database and one web page instead of half a dozen apps. qBittorrent comes with it, already set up.

Early days: Arrmada is under active development (v0.x). Expect rough edges, and keep backups.

What it does

Install

You need a Linux server with Docker and Docker Compose (on Unraid: the Docker Compose Manager plugin). On the server, run:

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/tristenlammi/Arrmada/main/install.sh | sh

It asks where to keep Arrmada's files and where your media lives (press Enter to accept the suggestions), then starts everything. Open the address it prints — http://<your-server>:7878 — create your admin account, and a short setup walks you through the rest in the browser: your free TMDB key, your library folders, your media server (Plex, Jellyfin or both) and indexers.

Prefer Docker Compose?

In an empty folder on the server:

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/tristenlammi/Arrmada/main/docker-compose.example.yml -o docker-compose.yml

Edit the lines marked ← (your media folder, the user and group, your timezone, the port), then run docker compose up -d, open http://<your-server>:7878 and follow the setup. To update: docker compose pull && docker compose up -d. That skips the installer's pre-update backup and automatic roll-back; the app still copies its database before any upgrade of it. More →

On Unraid, from the Docker page

Already running qBittorrent or SABnzbd on Unraid? Arrmada's template runs just the app, managed and updated from Unraid's Docker tab like your other containers, with your media share at /storage. Arrmada on Unraid →

Update

Run the same line again:

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/tristenlammi/Arrmada/main/install.sh | sh

It backs up the database, updates, and checks Arrmada comes back — if the new version doesn't start, it goes back to the one you had. (In Arrmada's folder, sh update.sh does the same.)

Installs follow the stable channel: updates bring the latest published release, never unreleased code. Developers can follow main instead, the newest code compiled on the server (Following main). More about updating →

Searching Database…

What is this?Arrmada is a self-hosted app that replaces the whole 'arr stack' — it finds, downloads, organizes and serves your movies, TV, books and audiobooks, lets your household request titles, and keeps Plex or Jellyfin libraries tidy, all from one app with one database.
Is this one app replacing multiple separate tools?Yes — it bundles the roles of Radarr, Sonarr, Overseerr and Tautulli, plus a torrent client (qBittorrent included), into a single self-hosted web app instead of several separate containers.
How do I get it running?Run the one-line install command on a Linux server with Docker and Docker Compose (a docker-compose.yml is also provided); it asks where to keep files and media, starts the containers, then you open the printed address to create an admin account and finish setup (TMDB key, library folders, media server, indexers) in the browser.
Do I need a TMDB key or my own download client? You need a free TMDB API key entered during setup, and Docker with Compose v2; qBittorrent is bundled and already set up, while SABnzbd for Usenet is optional via the --with-sabnzbd flag.
Is this stable enough for daily use?Not fully yet — the project is at v0.x and the README explicitly warns to expect rough edges and keep backups during this early development stage.
Does it run on a Raspberry Pi or only x86 servers? Both: any 64-bit Linux server on x86-64 or ARM64 works, including a Raspberry Pi 4/5 on a 64-bit OS, though hardware-accelerated Convert and AI subtitles only work on x86-64 — on ARM they fall back to CPU.
Can I migrate from Radarr and Sonarr instead of starting over?Yes — Arrmada can import your existing Radarr and Sonarr libraries, files included, so switching over doesn't mean re-downloading everything.
Does it support Usenet as well as torrents?Optionally — SABnzbd can be added alongside the bundled qBittorrent with the --with-sabnzbd install flag, using your own Usenet provider and indexers.
How do requests work for family and friends?Household members sign in with their Plex or Jellyfin account, browse and request titles Overseerr-style, and get notified when the request is ready.
What happens to files when they're converted or replaced?Arrmada protects against loss with hardlinked imports, a recycle bin, nightly backups and one-step rollbacks whenever files are changed.
