What is this?
A reference list of English programming and tech terms that Chinese programmers commonly mispronounce, pairing each word with correct British and American audio pronunciations, the typical wrong pronunciation, and a Chinese meaning.
Is this just a markdown list, or is there something I can install?
It's primarily a markdown table of words, but the same list also ships as a Chromium browser extension for real-time lookup and as a standalone iOS app.
How do I actually use it to check a word?
Open the README table and click the 🔊 icon next to a word to hear the correct British or American pronunciation, or install the Chromium extension to search pronunciations without leaving whatever page you're on.
Does every entry show the wrong pronunciation for comparison?
No, some rows only give the correct audio without a documented 'wrong pronunciation' example, so it isn't a consistent error-drill for every word.
What kinds of words are covered?
A mix of general English words (like height, hidden), programming terms (async, cache, integer), and tool or company names (Apache, Django, Kubernetes, Azure).
Do I need to read Chinese to use this?
No, the pronunciations are given in standard English IPA with audio; Chinese meanings are included as extra context but aren't required to use the word list.
Why is British vs. American pronunciation shown separately?
Many words have different accepted pronunciations in British and American English, so the table gives audio for both so users can learn whichever accent they're targeting.
