A curated list of remote Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers — hosted endpoints you connect to over a URL. No install, no runtime, no local process.h

Looking for servers you run yourself? See awesome-mcp-servers.

What is a remote MCP server?

A remote MCP server is an MCP server someone else operates for you. Instead of installing a package and spawning a local process over stdio, you point your client at a URL and authenticate — usually with OAuth.

Local server Remote server
Distribution npm, PyPI, Docker, a binary a URL
Transport stdio Streamable HTTP (or legacy SSE)
Runs on your machine the provider's infrastructure
Auth env vars, config files OAuth, or an API key
Updates you upgrade the provider ships

Everything listed here is a remote server. Entries are only listed after the endpoint answers an MCP initialize handshake.

How to connect

Most clients accept a bare URL. A few examples:

Claude Code

claude mcp add --transport http linear https://mcp.linear.app/mcp

mcp.json (Cursor, VS Code, and other clients that read this format)

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "linear": {
      "url": "https://mcp.linear.app/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Claude.ai / ChatGPT — add the URL under Settings → Connectors.

For 🔐 OAuth servers your client opens a browser window on first use. For 🔑 servers you supply a token, usually as an Authorization: Bearer <token> header.

Searching Database…

What is this?A curated, categorized directory of remote MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers that you connect to over the network instead of running locally, covering everything from CRM and databases to browser automation and payments.
Is this an app, or just a list I browse?It is a plain Markdown list (no code to run): entries are grouped into dozens of categories like Databases, CRM, Cloud Platforms and Developer Tools, each with a short description and an auth-type icon.
How do I actually use this list?Browse to the category you need, pick a server, then point your MCP client at that server's remote endpoint using the authentication method shown next to its name (anonymous, API key, or OAuth).
Do I need an API key or OAuth to connect to these servers?It depends on the server: each entry is marked with 🔓 for anonymous access, 🔑 for an API key/token, or 🔐 for OAuth.
Are all of these servers free to use?No — many charge per call, often via the x402 protocol paid in USDC on Base, while others require a paid plan or key; pricing is entry-specific, not list-wide.
Who is this list for?Developers and AI agent builders who want ready-made, hosted MCP integrations instead of writing and hosting their own MCP server.
What does the Glama badge mean on some entries?Entries with a Glama connector badge have been independently scored for tool definition quality and endpoint health, giving a trust signal beyond the author's own description.
What is x402, which shows up repeatedly?x402 is a payment protocol several listed servers use so AI agents can pay per API call automatically in USDC on the Base blockchain, without a human handling billing.
How is this different from a typical local MCP server?Local MCP servers run as a process on your machine; every server in this list is hosted remotely, so you just connect a client to its URL instead of installing and running anything yourself.
Is there a quick way to find servers for one use case, like CRM or databases?Yes — the README's category legend (CRM, Databases, Cloud Platforms, Developer Tools, Payments, etc.) lets you jump straight to the relevant section instead of scanning the whole list.
