submitmap-mcp README

The project's README from github.com/FifthWye/submitmap-mcp. As one markdown file: README.md.

SubmitMap MCP server

A remote MCP server for SubmitMap, a directory of product launch platforms and startup directories.

Every platform in the directory is a typed record rather than a link: who it accepts, what disqualifies you, the exact submission steps, the expected approval time, and whether the backlink is dofollow. The data is hand-walked, not scraped.

This repository holds the registry metadata. The server itself is hosted, so there is no package to install and nothing to run locally.

Endpoint

https://submitmap.com/api/mcp

Transport: streamable HTTP. Protocol version: 2025-06-18.

Configuration

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "submitmap": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://submitmap.com/api/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Per-client setup, including the OAuth flow, is documented at https://submitmap.com/docs/.

Tools

Read-only, and usable with no account at all:

With an account token, for automating submissions:

Authentication

The three read tools need nothing. The account tools accept Authorization: Bearer smap_..., and the server also advertises OAuth via /.well-known/oauth-protected-resource.

Tokens are created at https://submitmap.com/app/tokens.

What is this?SubmitMap MCP is a remote MCP server that gives AI agents structured access to SubmitMap, a directory of product launch platforms and startup directories, where each platform is a typed record with eligibility rules, disqualifiers, submission steps, approval time and dofollow status.
Do I install this on my machine, or does my MCP client just connect to it?There is nothing to install or run locally: the server is hosted remotely and your MCP client connects to it over streamable HTTP.
How do I connect to it?Point your MCP client at the hosted endpoint using streamable HTTP with protocol version 2025-06-18; per-client setup including the OAuth flow is documented separately.
Do I need an account or token to use it?No — the three read-only tools (searchplatforms, getplatform, qualifyproject) work with no account at all. An account token (Authorization: Bearer smap...) is only needed for the write tools that create projects, plan runs and record submissions.
Is there a usage cap once I use the account tools?Yes, accounts run on a free tier and the whoami tool reports how much of it you have left, so heavy automated submission runs will eventually hit a limit.
What can I do without any account?Search the directory (searchplatforms), pull a platform's full record (getplatform), and check which platforms a described product currently qualifies for (qualifyproject) — all read-only, no token required.
What does qualifyproject actually return?Given an inline description of your product, it returns which platforms you qualify for now, which you could reach with specific missing information, and which are out of reach entirely.
How does it help with actually submitting, not just browsing?With an account, submissionplaybook maps your stored project data onto a specific platform's form fields and gives the sign-in rule, steps and gotchas, while plansubmissions sets the run order and recordsubmission/listsubmissions track status.
Is the directory data scraped?No, the README states each platform record is hand-walked rather than scraped, meaning someone manually verified the submission process.
