PrimeNG

[!WARNING] This repository is no longer under active development and receives security fixes only. PrimeNG continues as part of PrimeUI. Issues here are read-only. Bug reports and feature requests belong at PrimeUI; for security vulnerabilities, see SECURITY.md.

The next chapter has begun.

After years as an open source library, PrimeNG enters its next chapter as part of PrimeUI, a sustainable foundation for the libraries you rely on.

What this means

Existing MIT versions remain MIT, forever. Every release published under the MIT license stays exactly as it is. Your existing projects are unaffected. Nothing is taken away.

Security updates continue here. We keep publishing security fixes for the MIT-licensed releases. How to report one is in SECURITY.md.

Development continues at a new home. Active development, new releases, and everything ahead now live under PrimeUI.

Thank you

To everyone who used PrimeNG, filed an issue, opened a pull request, answered a question, or simply built something with it, thank you. This library reached hundreds of millions of downloads because of you.

The next chapter is just beginning, and we hope you'll be part of it.

What is this?PrimeNG is an open-source Angular UI component library from PrimeTek — a large set of ready-made interface components (data tables, charts and more) for building web apps. It now continues as part of PrimeUI.
So it's a library I add to an Angular project, not a standalone app?Exactly — you install the primeng package and use its components inside your own Angular app. The repo itself is a pnpm monorepo that builds the component library, a separate themes package, docs and a showcase.
How do I get it into my project?Install the primeng npm package into your Angular app and follow the setup guide at primeng.dev, which the README names as where the journey continues.
Do I need to be using Angular already?Yes — PrimeNG is built for Angular apps, so you need an Angular project to drop it into. The components render in the browser as regular web UI; there is no native mobile or desktop version.
Is it still actively developed? No — this repository receives security fixes only, so expect no new features here. Anything new is being built in its new home under PrimeUI.
What happens to the license, and to apps already using PrimeNG?Nothing changes for existing users: every release published under MIT stays MIT forever, security updates keep being published for those MIT releases, and your existing projects are unaffected.
What kinds of components does it include? The catalog targets everyday app UI: the repo is tagged for datatables, datagrids and charts, and its build pipeline compiles the component library plus a dedicated themes package for styling.
Where does development continue now?Under PrimeUI — active development, new releases, and everything ahead now live there; the README links the announcement at primeui.dev/nextchapter and the project site primeng.dev.
How widely used is PrimeNG?Very widely: the README credits its users as the reason the library reached hundreds of millions of downloads, and the GitHub repo has about 12.5k stars.
