Noodle Preview

⚠️ This is a UI design mockup of what the platform will look like, it is not the current state of the project.

Purpose

Noodle as an idea came from the struggles that I faced during my university years. I was using multiple apps to try and stay on track with my studies, and I thought to myself, why is there no singular app that can do everything a student needs to stay on track with their studies? Like a GitHub but for students.

Planned MVP Features

The flashcards will be generated from the notes that you take, and you will be able to quiz yourself on them.

What is this?Noodle is a planned all-in-one productivity web app for students, meant to replace juggling separate apps for notes, flashcards, calendar, tasks and grades with a single tool.
Is this just a note-taking app, or something bigger?Note-taking and auto-generated flashcard quizzes are the first MVP features; the broader vision is a full student productivity suite with calendar, task management, and grade tracking planned on top.
How do I get it running locally? The README has no install guide, but the codebase is a Next.js/Bun project: run bun install to get dependencies, use the drizzle-kit db:migrate script to set up the database, then build with next build.
What backend services does it depend on?The stack is wired to Clerk for authentication, Neon (Postgres) or Turso (SQLite) via Drizzle ORM for the database, and Upstash Redis for caching, so you'd need accounts for these services to run it.
Is this app ready to use right now?No — the README explicitly warns the screenshots are just a UI mockup of the planned platform, not its current state, and the project started as an early work-in-progress MVP before the repo was archived.
What features is Noodle planning beyond notes and flashcards? The roadmap includes a calendar, task management, and grade tracking, building out from the initial note-taking and auto-generated flashcard MVP.
Is Noodle still being actively developed? No — the GitHub repository is archived, and the README already flagged the project as an early work-in-progress MVP before development stopped.
Why did the author build Noodle instead of using existing student apps? The author struggled juggling multiple separate apps during university and wanted one single tool — comparable to how GitHub centralizes developer work — that covers everything a student needs.
