update

Searching Database…

What is this? This is a Chinese book-and-notes repository on programming interview questions, algorithms and data structures, originally a blog series that grew into the published book '编程之法:面试和算法心得' (The Art of Programming). It also bundles machine learning notes (SVM, CNN, RNN/LSTM, BERT, ChatGPT) collected from the author's other blog series.
Is this a coding library or just reading material? It's a static collection of articles, PDFs and code examples for interview prep and algorithm study — there's nothing to install or run as a tool.
How is the content organized and where should I start?Content is organized by chapters (strings, arrays, trees, search, dynamic programming, massive data processing, etc.), with a Chinese table of contents as the main entry point; an English translation is still in progress.
Do I need any tools to read or use this?No special tools are required — it's text/PDF content; code examples are mainly in C/C++ with contributions in other languages stored in the ebook/code folder.
Is this project still being actively maintained?Development has mostly moved to preparing new books rather than updating this repo; the English translation is incomplete, and most recent updates (as of the 2023 note) focus on the printed second edition rather than the GitHub content itself.
Is the printed book free or paid? The printed book '编程之法:面试和算法心得' is sold commercially on JD.com and Dangdang, while this GitHub repo contains free article drafts and PDFs; the author explicitly forbids republishing or commercial use of the e-book content.
Why did this project become so popular? It grew from a well-followed Chinese blog series on Microsoft interview questions and algorithm deep-dives, and the GitHub repo briefly hit #1 on GitHub's global trending chart in December 2013, which drew in many contributors.
What kind of extra material is included beyond the book chapters? There are bonus PDFs and slides covering SVM, B-trees, KMP, massive data processing, plus a 'machine learning top-ten algorithms' series (SVM, xgboost, CNN, RNN/LSTM, object detection, BERT, ChatGPT) compiled from the author's other CSDN blog series.
