Searching Database…

What is this? This is the monorepo for Bitwarden's client applications — the web vault, browser extension, Electron desktop app, and CLI — everything except the mobile apps.
Is this one app or several bundled together? It's a monorepo holding four separate Bitwarden clients (web, browser extension, desktop, cli) that share code, not a single app.
How do I build and run these apps? The README points you to the 'Clients' section of Bitwarden's Contributing Documentation for actual build instructions, tooling, and code style; this repo itself doesn't inline the steps.
What do I need installed before building it?Node.js 24.17.0+ and npm ~11 are required per the package.json engines field, and the UI stack is built on Angular.
Are the iOS and Android apps included here? No, mobile apps live in their own repositories — bitwarden/ios and bitwarden/android — this repo covers only web, browser, desktop, and cli.
Where does the self-hosted server or directory sync tool live? Those are separate repos: bitwarden/server handles the backend (API, database, Docker), and bitwarden/directory-connector syncs AD/LDAP/Azure/G Suite/Okta directories.
What is Bitwarden?Bitwarden is a password manager; this repo provides its web vault, browser extension, desktop app, and CLI so users can store and access encrypted credentials across platforms.
Can I sync directory users like Active Directory or LDAP?Yes, but through a separate tool — bitwarden/directory-connector — not included in this repository.
How does the project handle security reports? The team welcomes security audits and feedback, with sensitive reports accepted privately by email and a published policy in SECURITY.md.
