What is this?
This is the companion repository for '矩阵力量' (Power of Matrix), the third book in the 'Iris Flower Book' (鸢尾花书) series. It teaches linear algebra and matrix theory step by step as a foundation for machine learning, paired with Jupyter notebooks that run every example.
Is this a book or a code library?
It's primarily a printed/ebook textbook; this repo just holds the Jupyter notebooks that reproduce the book's matrix and machine-learning examples interactively.
How do I use the notebooks?
Clone or download the repository and open the chapter notebooks in Jupyter or JupyterLab; each notebook maps to a chapter of the book and walks through its matrix/ML examples in code.
Do I need Python to run the notebooks?
Yes, the whole repo is written as Jupyter Notebooks, so you need a Python environment with Jupyter (or JupyterLab) installed to execute them.
Do I have to buy the printed book, or can I just use the free notebooks?
The notebooks are free, open-source learning resources available permanently; buying the printed or ebook version (with a discounted entry link for the whole series) is entirely optional.
Is the book available in English, or only in Chinese?
The entire book and all notebooks are written in Chinese only; the README gives no indication of an English edition.
What other books are in the Iris Flower Book series?
This is the third book, alongside '统计至简' (Statistics Made Simple) and '数学要素' (Math Essentials), both offered at discounted entry links in the README — together they build up the math foundations needed for machine learning.
What math topics does 'Power of Matrix' cover?
Based on the repo topics it covers linear algebra and matrix operations such as matrix factorization, moving from basic arithmetic toward their use in machine learning algorithms.
What happens if I find mistakes in the book?
Readers who report a significant number of corrections ('纠错') are thanked with a free copy of the book, according to the README.
