What is this?
A community-maintained GitHub collection of study resources for the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC): student-written notes, summaries and experience write-ups for dozens of its courses.
Is this an online course platform, or just a set of downloadable files?
Neither a MOOC nor an app — it is a catalog inside a GitHub repo: a course directory sorted by pinyin (searchable in-page) links each course to student-authored notes and summaries you can download.
How do I get the materials?
Follow the download link in the README's 资料下载 section; GitHub caps file uploads at 100 Mb, so bigger files live on cloud drives with their links pasted in the README.
Will every course I look up actually have complete materials?
No — each course follows a common structure template, but some sections may simply be missing, so expect gaps from course to course.
Do I need to read Chinese to use this?
Yes — the whole catalog and all notes are written in Chinese by USTC students, so it is really aimed at USTC students or other Chinese-speaking learners.
Am I free to share and reuse the notes?
By default, materials without a special statement are under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0: free to share and adapt with attribution, non-commercially, under the same license. Only student-original or authorized content is accepted.
Which courses does the collection cover?
Mostly the CS curriculum — compilers, operating systems, computer networks, data structures, algorithms, computer organization, graphics, NLP, Java development — plus math and physics courses like probability and statistics, stochastic processes and optics, even a Marxism principles course.
Who writes the materials, and is anything vetted before it goes in?
Everything is voluntarily submitted by students, and only student-original or properly authorized resources are accepted; the public is asked to report anything that violates the license so it can be corrected.
Does it help with planning which courses to take in which order?
There is a course-relations section, but for the full picture it points you to the official training program (培养方案), which you download from the university website.
Is the project still active?
Yes — the repository is not archived, runs a CI build workflow, and has grown to over 16,000 stars since it was created in 2019.
