What is this?
An open-source UI library from Tencent that helps you quickly build Android apps with a design-faithful look, so you spend your time on business logic instead of writing base UI code.
So what do I actually get — a component library, an app, or a full framework?
A library you drop into your own Android project: ready-made UI widgets, a global style configuration system, and a set of utility helpers. It is not a standalone app or an end-to-end application framework.
How do I get started with it?
Clone the repo and open the qmuidemo module — it contains working examples showing how each component is used, so it doubles as living documentation.
Which Android versions does it support?
API Level 21 and up, which means Android 5.0 Lollipop and anything newer.
Does the library collect anything from my users' devices?
Per its privacy notes, it reads device brand and model via android.os.Build to tell devices apart, and it reads a system setting to detect fullscreen-gesture navigation — nothing else is mentioned.
Is it meant for brand-new apps or for maintaining existing ones?
Both. The README positions it as a boost to development efficiency and project quality whether you are creating a new project or maintaining one that already exists.
