Laravel Excel is created with love and care by Spartner (formerly known as Maatwebsite) to give back to the Laravel community. It is completely free (MIT license) to use, however the package is licensed as Postcardware. This means that if it makes it to your production environment, we would very much appreciate receiving a postcard from your hometown.

Spartner Markt 2 6231 LS Meerssen The Netherlands.

More about the license can be found at: https://docs.laravel-excel.com/3.1/getting-started/license.html

Searching Database…

What is this?Laravel Excel is a Laravel package that wraps PhpSpreadsheet to make exporting and importing Excel/CSV files easy, with support for chunked reads, batch inserts, and queued jobs for large datasets.
Is this a standalone tool or a package I add to my Laravel app? It's a Composer package/library you install into an existing Laravel project, not a standalone app.
How do I add it to my Laravel project?Install it via Composer into your Laravel app; full setup and usage instructions are in the official documentation site.
What PHP and Laravel versions does it need? The current version requires Laravel 8-13.x and PHP ^8.3; PhpSpreadsheet is used internally as the underlying engine.
Can exports handle really large datasets without issues?Yes, it's built for that: queries are automatically chunked, and both exports and imports can be queued to run in the background in chunks, so large files won't block your app.
Is the MIT license the whole story? It's MIT licensed and free to use, but the authors ask (not require) that if you use it in production you send them a physical postcard — it's branded 'Postcardware'.
Can I export a custom HTML layout instead of a plain table?Yes, you can design a layout as a Blade view with an HTML table and export that view directly to a spreadsheet.
Does importing support inserting directly into my database models?Yes, imports can map workbook/worksheet rows to Eloquent models using chunk reading combined with batch inserts for efficiency.
