What is this?
iRingo is a set of rewrite/MitM rule modules that unlock the full versions of Apple services (Weather, Maps, Siri/Spotlight search, News, TV, TestFlight, Watch, and a BoxJs config panel) on devices where Apple limits or disables them, by rewriting the app's network requests.
Is this an app, or rules I load into another app?
It is not a standalone app - it is a collection of rewrite rule modules that you load into a MitM-capable proxy client such as Loon, Surge, Stash, Egern, Quantumult X or Shadowrocket.
How do I start using it?
Enable Rewrite, Script and MitM in your proxy app, then subscribe to the individual feature modules (Maps, Weather, Siri, etc.) through the BoxJs visual configuration panel.
Which proxy apps do I need to run it?
You need a MitM-capable rule-based proxy client; Loon and Surge are the recommended apps, while Stash, Egern, Quantumult X and Shadowrocket are listed as compatible.
Will it work on any iOS or macOS version?
Modules are only verified up to macOS 15/iOS 18/watchOS 11 and down to macOS 12.3/iOS 14.8/watchOS 9; some features like the new WeatherKit and Siri unlock only apply to the newer OS branch, with separate modules for older systems.
Does it work across my iPhone, iPad, Mac and Watch?
Yes, unless stated otherwise each module applies to iOS, iPadOS, macOS and watchOS, and the modules have no dependencies on each other so you can enable them individually or combine them.
What is BoxJs used for here?
BoxJs is the visual panel iRingo relies on for subscribing to and configuring its modules, so you can toggle individual Apple-service unlocks without hand-editing config files.
Can I enable just one feature, like Maps, without the rest?
Yes, each module (Maps, Weather, Siri/Spotlight, News, TV, Watch, TestFlight) works independently, so you only need to subscribe to the ones you actually want.
Why would someone need to unlock these Apple features?
In regions outside Apple's official feature rollout, services like WeatherKit, Siri/Spotlight search, Apple News and TestFlight access can be restricted or missing; iRingo's rewrite rules alter the API requests so these services behave as if fully available.
