What is this?
Dokploy is a free, self-hostable PaaS for deploying and managing applications and databases — an open-source alternative to Vercel, Netlify and Heroku.
So it runs on my own server, or is there a hosted option too?
You self-host it on your VPS and manage everything from there. If you would rather skip installation entirely, there is a hosted Dokploy Cloud.
How do I get it running?
Run the install script on a VPS with a single command; detailed documentation lives at docs.dokploy.com.
Do I need to set up a reverse proxy or load balancer myself?
No — Traefik is integrated automatically for routing and load balancing, and Docker Compose is supported natively for complex applications.
Is it locked to a particular stack or language?
No — it deploys any type of application (Node.js, PHP, Python, Go, Ruby, etc.), so your framework choice is up to you.
What can it run besides my own apps?
Managed databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MariaDB, libsql and Redis, with automated backups to an external storage destination. There are also one-click templates for open-source tools like Plausible, Pocketbase and Calcom.
Can it scale beyond one server?
Yes — Multi Node scales applications across a cluster managed with Docker Swarm, and Multi Server lets you deploy to remote external servers.
How do I find out when a deployment breaks?
You get notifications on success or failure via Slack, Discord, Telegram, Email and more.
Can I see what my apps are doing on the server?
Yes — real-time monitoring tracks CPU, memory, storage and network usage for every resource.
