StreamVault is a TV-first media player for Android TV built with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Room, Hilt, and Media3.

It is designed for large playlists, remote-friendly browsing, fast provider switching, and a polished living-room playback experience. StreamVault supports M3U playlists, Xtream Codes, Stalker Portal, and Jellyfin providers, plus Stremio-compatible add-ons, with dedicated flows for Live TV, Movies, and Series.

Built for Android TV first, StreamVault focuses on the things generic IPTV apps usually get wrong: D-pad navigation, quick channel movement, large-library organization, and a player that still feels good to use from the couch. Phone and tablet installs are also supported, but the primary UX target is TV.

What is this?StreamVault is a free, TV-first IPTV player for Android TV built with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Room, Hilt and Media3. It lets you connect your own M3U, Xtream Codes, Stalker Portal or Jellyfin sources (plus Stremio-compatible add-ons) and watch Live TV, Movies and Series with a remote-friendly interface.
Is this an IPTV service, or just a player I connect to my own sources? It is only a client app, not a content provider. You have to supply your own authorized playlists, streams and guide data from an M3U list, Xtream Codes, Stalker Portal or Jellyfin server.
Do I need my own IPTV provider or playlist?Yes. StreamVault supports Xtream Codes, Stalker Portal, Jellyfin and M3U playlists (local files or URLs), and you can merge several M3U sources into one combined Live TV source.
Any gotchas, like with backups or the license?Backup exports can include your provider credentials so restores do not need re-entering passwords, but those files store the passwords in plain readable text, so you need to keep them private.
Does it work on phones too, or only on Android TV?It is designed primarily for Android TV with D-pad navigation, but it also installs and runs on phones and tablets as a secondary target.
Can I download movies and episodes for offline viewing?Yes, StreamVault supports offline VOD downloads with grouped episode queues, pause/resume controls, and local playback once a download completes.
Can StreamVault record live TV?Yes, it has a built-in DVR that supports scheduled background recordings or recording a channel while you watch, saving to the app's default folder, custom storage, or a shared network folder.
Does it support Stremio add-ons?Yes, you can install Stremio-compatible add-ons from a manifest URL and browse their catalogs for metadata, direct or debrid streams, and subtitles, with support for resume history and offline downloads.
What is the Plugin API for?It lets developers build companion Android APK plugins that extend StreamVault with new providers, playback handling, Cast URL rewriting, or custom configuration flows.
Can I keep live TV in sync with EPG guide data?Yes, it has full EPG grid support with XMLTV guide parsing, program search, manual match overrides, and provider catch-up/archive playback when the source supports it.
