What is this?
An unofficial research repository that reconstructs the TypeScript source code of Claude Code from the published '@anthropic-ai/claude-code' npm package and its bundled source map — for study and learning, not for use.
So is this something I install, or just source code to read?
Nothing to install or run here — it's a browsable snapshot of Claude Code v2.1.88: 4,756 recovered files, including 1,884 .ts/.tsx sources. To actually use Claude Code you'd install the official npm package.
Is this the official Anthropic code, then?
No — it's an unofficial reconstruction based on source-map analysis of the public npm package, and it does not mirror Anthropic's original internal development repository structure.
Am I allowed to reuse this code in my own project?
No license is granted: the README states the source code copyright belongs to Anthropic, the material is for technical research and learning only — commercial use is off-limits, and it will be removed on request.
How was the source code recovered?
By extracting the sourcesContent field from cli.js.map — the source map shipped inside the published '@anthropic-ai/claude-code' npm package — which contained the original TypeScript sources.
What is Claude Code itself?
It's Anthropic's terminal coding agent, published on npm as '@anthropic-ai/claude-code'; this repo reconstructs the TypeScript source behind one of its releases.
Why did the author publish this?
Claude Code's internal source isn't public, so the author rebuilt it for technical research and learning, crediting a forum tip-off ('飘然与我同' on L站); they offer to delete it if Anthropic considers it infringing.
