Awesome AI Agent Platforms Awesome

A curated list of open-source AI agent platforms: AI coworkers and teammates, agent builders and frameworks, workflow automation platforms, browser agents, and coding agents, with license and hosting notes for every entry.

AI coworkers are persistent agents that people delegate real work to: they sign in to tools, keep context, run on schedules, and come back with finished work. This list covers the platforms that provide them, the frameworks developers build them with, and the automation and specialist agents around them.

Market map of the AI agent platform landscape

Contents

AI coworkers and teammates

Agent builders and frameworks

Frameworks and visual tools developers use to create, connect, run, and inspect agents.

Platforms and runtimes for repeatable workflows, scheduled jobs, and event-driven processes, with or without AI steps.

Selection criteria

An entry must:

Each project appears once, under the category that best matches its main use. License and hosting notes reflect the linked repository at the time of the last verification. Inclusion is not an endorsement, and star counts, funding, and company size are not criteria.

Contributing

Contributions are welcome. Open a pull request that adds or changes one entry at a time:

  1. Add the entry to the category that best matches its main use, in alphabetical order.
  2. Link to the official repository, or the official product page only when no canonical repository exists.
  3. Write one factual sentence about what the tool does. No slogans, star counts, or comparisons.
  4. State the current license and hosting model in the same bullet.
  5. Confirm the project meets the selection criteria.

Searching Database…

What is this?A curated list of open-source AI agent platforms, split into five categories: AI coworkers and teammates, agent builders and frameworks, workflow automation platforms, browser agents, and coding agents, each entry noted with its license and hosting model.
Is this just a README list, or is there a website version? It is both: the Markdown list lives in this repo (built with Astro), and the same data can be browsed as a searchable comparison table on a companion website.
How is the list organized?Entries are grouped into five sections - AI coworkers and teammates, agent builders and frameworks, workflow automation platforms, browser agents, and coding agents - listed alphabetically within each, with a one-line description plus license and hosting notes.
Are entries vetted before being added?Yes: a project must have an active official repo or product page, be a real usable product/framework (not demo-only), publicly state its license and hosting model, and still be maintained - discontinued projects or ones redirecting to a successor are excluded.
What makes something an 'AI coworker' rather than just an agent framework?AI coworkers are persistent agents people delegate real work to that sign in to tools, keep context, run on schedules, and come back with finished work, whereas frameworks are what developers use to build agents from scratch.
Does the list track tricky licenses like fair-code or source-available?Yes, each entry states its actual license, including nuances like n8n's Sustainable Use License (fair-code, source-available) or LobeChat's source-available community license, not just a generic open-source label.
Can I add a new project to the list?Yes, via a pull request that adds one entry at a time in alphabetical order, with the official repo link, one factual sentence, the current license, and the hosting model, confirming it meets the selection criteria.
Is the list ranked by popularity? No, the maintainers explicitly state that star counts, funding, and company size are not criteria for inclusion.
